KATMAI BEAR CONTENT 🐻 I started recording clips from the Explore live bear cams in Katmai National Park in 2023 as a way to learn bear IDs and to revisit moments caught on the live cams. I am not an expert in bear ID nor am I affiliated with Explore. I am just a huge fan who loves to learn. *** Bear IDs are subject to change at any point.

I know we don’t say the S❄️ word in the chat, but my goodness seeing a brown bear in the snow is so incredibly pretty 🤍 Thankful for these last days witnessing the bears.

🚨 The Ambler Road Project will carve a 211-mile industrial road, crossing 11 rivers and 1000s of streams, to reach the Ambler Mining District. This will open the door to mining for copper, cobalt, gold, and other minerals. Indigenous communities, wildlife (salmon, caribou, migratory birds, etc), and sacred lands are all at risk but the administration is fast-tracking it anyway.

Although 901 won in my heart, 32 Chunk absolutely earned the Fat Bear Week 2025 title! Congrats big guy!

I was going through some childhood stuff my mom gave me, including a Beatrix Potter First Year Calendar, and discovered that my first favorite toy was a Gund Bear, and suddenly it all makes sense. 😂🧸❤️✨

Sorry for no recap videos the last couple weeks, I've been sick and stretched thin. But at least the bears are thriving! We love to see it! What's been your favorite thing to witness the last couple weeks? I loved seeing Chunk be playful!

“The Trump administration's proposal to repeal the Roadless Rule would jeopardize nearly 58 million acres of undeveloped backcountry forestland. The move is particularly significant for the Tongass National Forest, where eliminating the Roadless Rule would remove critical safeguards against industrial logging and damaging roadbuilding from over 9 million undeveloped acres within the 17-million-acre forest. The Tongass, sometimes called North America's Amazon, is the world's largest intact temperate rainforest and the ancestral homeland of the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian peoples. @earthjustice, @theboatcompany, other tourism businesses, commercial fishing operators, Southeast Alaska tribes and conservationists have defended this rule before - and we will continue to.
