đĄLoving these practical, hands-free sewing projects lately?
If you enjoyed the zipper sweater keychain and the cord wrap, this is another one youâll probably loveâŚ
đ The Water Bottle Holder tutorial
This is honestly one of the projects I use the most in real life.
It lets you carry your water bottle completely hands-free, whether youâre running errands, walking to the park, heading out for a day trip, or exploring on vacation.
Itâs one of my favorite examples of a sewing project that works for both:
âď¸ everyday life
âď¸ and travel/adventures
You can make it in an afternoon, itâs very doable for confident beginners (beginner â early intermediate), and itâs absolutely worth the little extra effort.
Thereâs also a matching pattern for it that includes 3 different sizes for different water bottles.
If youâre into sewing things youâll actually use, this is a great one to add to your list. đ§ľ

𧾠Missed this yesterday? Or just looking for a quick, useful sewing win this weekend?
This little Cord Wrap is one of those tiny projects that quietly makes everyday life easier.
It keeps your charging cords, earbuds, and small cables neatly bundled in your bag without them sliding out or slowly unraveling like most simple wraps do.
The double-snap design is intentional and helps keep the cord more secure and contained (especially for shorter or slippery cords).
Itâs:
âď¸ beginner-friendly
âď¸ a true scrap-buster
âď¸ super fast (you can finish it in about 30 minutes)
âď¸ actually practical for real life (travel, work bags, tech pouches, and everyday carry)
If you watched yesterdayâs tutorial, donât forget to grab the free pattern to keep on hand.
And if you missed the video, this is an easy, low-commitment project you can sew in one short sitting!

đ˘ New quick & practical sewing tutorial dropping tomorrowâŚ
If you like to travel, are just tired of losing your charging cord, or just want to prevent it from getting tangled in your bag (or stuffed into random pockets), this oneâs for you.
Iâll be sharing a fast, beginner-friendly sewing project that makes a small but surprisingly useful everyday accessory, and itâs one of those âwhy is this not already in my bag?â kind of makes.
This version uses a slightly different snap setup than most simple cord wraps⌠and thereâs a very intentional reason for that design choice. đ
(Iâll explain exactly why in the video. đ)
𧾠New tutorial goes live tomorrow, Friday evening (around 6â7pm)
đ Save this post and come back! Itâs a fun, quick project and a perfect scrap-buster, too. đ§ľ

Itâs still very much âstuck-inside sewing seasonâ for a lot of us right now, and while the fun projects are always tempting, this is actually a great time to quietly level up a few skills that make everything easier later. đ§ľ
One of those is making your own bias tape.
If youâve ever struggled with hiding seams in certain places, wanted that extra pop of color, or needed to bind a seam following a pattern's instructions, this video shows you two practical ways to make bias tape yourself. It includes a totally free method and a much faster everyday option.
This fits right in with the zipper + curves + foundational skills Iâve been sharing lately. Small skills, big payoff for future projects.

This little Zipper Sweater Keychain is one of those projects that just makes sense to own.
It clips to your bag and holds a sweater, light jacket, or hoodie hands-free...no tying, no stretching it out, and no draping it over your arm and hoping you donât forget it somewhere.
The zipper lets you adjust for different thicknesses, and the snaps fold it up into a more compact, secure hold (and honestly⌠it looks better too).
Itâs:
âď¸ beginner-friendly
âď¸ fast to sew
âď¸ actually practical for everyday life (errands, travel, walks, coffee runs, etc.)
If you watched yesterdayâs tutorial, donât forget to grab the free pattern.
And if you missed the video, this is still a great, cozy indoor winter project you can finish in one sitting.

Sometimes the best projects arenât gifts⌠theyâre the ones you make just for yourself.
With Valentineâs Day coming up, this felt like a good moment to share something a little fun, a little pretty, and still totally practical: a small purse you can make for you. Whether that means taking it out to dinner, carrying it on a coffee run, or just enjoying the fact that you made something special with your own hands.
This Drawstring Purse is a lightweight, everyday bag thatâs simple, cute, and actually useful...and the pattern is completely free.
Itâs a great âtreat yourselfâ project because itâs:
⨠finishable in an afternoon or a day
𧾠beginner-to-intermediate friendly (not first-ever sewing, but very doable)
đ practical enough to really use
đ and honestly just really fun to make
The free pattern includes the measured pattern pieces and step-by-step, 3D-style digital instructions so youâre not left guessing what goes where.
If youâd like to make one, you can grab it on my website at www.bytinymite.com/pattern-library đ
Scroll toward the bottom of the page to find the Drawstring Purse pattern (itâs 100% free).
Whether or not Valentineâs Day means anything to you, this is your little reminder that itâs okay to make things just because you want them. đ
