a brief look behind-the-scenes -- folding & packing up February's mail. thank y'all for being a part of it. really a delight to put together (although WAY more folding than I had ever anticipated).
I do like reading writing advice from very famous or very dead people (Thoreau, Bradbury, King, etc) but it's also good to hear advice from someone who is "like me" -- someone who is currently alive and writing just for the love of it.
@F.C.Shultz is that kind of person, and "Doing the Work Is Enough" is that kind of book. Very short, very readable, and a great companion book to the other writing books on your shelf. (This is also the first book I ever 'blurbed' -- as in, my review of it is on the back cover.)
If you're like me and collect writing books like the world is running out of them, give this one a shot! a.co/d/0aR56yf
I've mentioned it before on the channel but this is the first time I've talked about it in depth. I really don't think I've ever been more excited to recommend a book.
If you need a phenomenal book to start your 2026...this is it.
if you've got an hour while washing dishes (or wrapping gifts) consider giving this conversation a listen! @fabiocerpelloni and I talked a little bit about "reasons to read" and a lot about the writing process. really a wonderful hour, it flew by.
Fabio's book "Tiny Book Author" is a terrific short read I'd definitely recommend picking up if you've ever thought about writing a book but don't know if you have enough material to fill one. His YouTube channel is also a great place to go if you'd like to hear more writing advice, particularly for non-fiction.
