Our universe is an incredible and surely a mysterious place, and humankind has a natural curiosity to explain and explore the unknown. Perhaps this is what the bone sticks from Europe and Africa (circa 35,000 BCE) signify, our first step towards studying astronomy making it the oldest "science" we know.
This is why we have gotten this far, and, are still endeavoring to research more because that is where our destiny lies.
