As part of the 7th Marine Regiment and the 1st Marine Division, the battalion is one of the most battle-hardened units in the Marine Corps!

The Legacy of 1/12 Marines: "Warriors of the Pacific"

Known as 1st Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, this unit has been a cornerstone of Marine artillery for over 80 years!

From the jungles of Vietnam to the deserts of Iraq and the valleys of Helmand, 1/12 evolved from traditional artillery to "provisional infantry" and back again, proving their adaptability before their 2023 deactivation.

Deactivated under "Force Design 2030" to make room for long-range missile batteries (NMESIS), the unit remains on the Marine Corps rolls, allowing for a potential 4th activation if global needs shift back to traditional or hybrid artillery.

Vietnam Impact: Deployed to Vietnam from 1965 to 1969
-KEY SITES: Phu Bai, Khe Sanh, and Camp Carroll

GWOT:
OIF: Deployed 3x (2004–2009). Provided critical fire support during the Second Battle of Fallujah, and Task Force Military Police in Al Anbar.

OEF: Deployment to Helmand Province, AFG (2011). Marked a return to their roots, using M777A2 howitzers to provide continuous fire support for infantry units across the region.

For 19 years, highly motivated and extremely dedicated, United States Marine Recruits have been taking on the 54 hour challenge, better known as "The Crucible".

A true test of grit and determination, it pushes you to ask the question: "HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?!"

The reward is not only the iconic Eagle, Globe, and Anchor - it's earning the title of UNITED STATES MARINE 🪖🔥
