Ayon kay Castro, hindi dapat kuwestiyunin ng taumbayan ang naturang pondo dahil ito ay ginagamit para sa mga sensitibong aktibidad ng Pangulo, kabilang ang mga biyahe sa ibang bansa na may layuning makahikayat ng investments para sa Pilipinas.
Ayon pa kay Castro, ang katangian ng confidential funds ay hindi ito saklaw ng karaniwang liquidation process dahil sa pagiging sensitibo ng mga operasyon. Dagdag niya, may umiiral na mga legal na mekanismo at auditing procedures para sa ganitong pondo.
Pero paano magiging kidnapping kung may warrant of arrest na inilabas ng International Criminal Court (ICC)?
Sa kidnapping, walang warrant. Sapilitang dinudukot ang isang tao, inilalayo sa kanyang pamilya at mga mahal sa buhay—labag sa batas at walang legal na proseso.

Iginiit pa ni De Lima na ang pagpapababa ng pamantayan ng impeachment ay nakapipinsala sa institusyon. Kapag tinanggap ang mga reklamo na walang sapat na batayan, nagiging political weapon ang impeachment sa halip na mekanismo ng pananagutan.

Sinabi ni Rep. Gerville Luistro, Chairperson ng House Justice Committee, na magiging independent at walang kinikilingan ang komite sa paghawak ng mga impeachment complaint laban kay pangulong Bongbong Marcos.
"Ang amin pong faith and allegiance is to the people of the Philippines. It is neither to the President nor to the Vice President." ang sabi ni Luistro.
Senate President Tito Sotto said he is now inclined to support moves to amend the Constitution following a Supreme Court decision that struck down the Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte as unconstitutional.
Sotto argued that the ruling effectively altered how constitutional provisions on impeachment are interpreted, prompting lawmakers to consider exercising their own authority to introduce changes.
“Kung ang supreme court puwedeng galawin ang constitution, aba’y dapat galawin na namin. Kami ang empowered to do so,” Sotto said.
