We had a fantastic trip to less-traveled part of the world, Tajikistan. We crossed borders and discovering hidden gems! In my videos of Central Asia series, we ventured into the stunning landscapes of Tajikistan. We explored the historic city of Khujand, stand where a nation's history was made, and get lost in the vibrant chaos of a local bazaar.
Then, we journeyed into the heart of the Fann Mountains to witness the legendary Seven Lakes (Haft Kul), a place of unbelievable, crystal-clear colors with dazzling blue and green alpine lakes.
Nestled in the rugged Fann Mountains, the Seven Lakes are a string of seven pristine alpine lakes, each with its own unique and stunning color. The name "Haft Kul" literally means "Seven Lakes" in Tajik. This isn't just one destination, but a journey up a dramatic valley where each turn reveals a new, breathtaking vista.
We finished by walking in the footsteps of ancient Silk Road traders at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sarazm. The initial discovery of the ancient Sarazm settlement, which led to all subsequent excavations, is often attributed to a local resident, a farmer named Ashurali Taylonov, who reportedly found artifacts while farming his land in the 1970s and his daughter brought them to local authorities. The subsequent, formal excavation was led by Tajik archaeologist Abdullo Isakovstarting in 1977. Discovery of the Sarazm Princess at Sarazm site is a major Bronze Age archaeological area in Tajikistan. The high-status female skeleton was discovered in a burial pit during excavations in the late 1970s and early 1980s. She was buried with remarkable grave goods that indicated her high status, including valuable imported jewelry like beads, bangles (bracelets) still on her arms, and mirrors made of bronze or silver. The large-scale excavation of the ancient settlement revealed layers of organized settlement and trade routes dating back around 5,000 years, highlighting Sarazm's importance as a major center along the early Silk Road.
This is Tajikistan like you've never seen it before!

November 2025, we flew from Almaty International Airport to Tashkent, Uzbekistan 🇺🇿
Our adventure continued to UZBEKISTAN's Ancient Cities 🇺🇿 Get ready to journey back in time with me on an epic adventure through this incredible city!. We explored the legendary cities of the Silk Road, from bustling bazaars to breathtaking, centuries-old architecture.
🏰 TASHKENT: Kicking off in the capital, we wandered through Independence Square, dive into the vibrant chaos of Chorsu Bazaar, and explored the sacred Hast Imam Complex, spiritual center housing priceless historical relics.
🪐 SAMARKAND, a city of legends! We stood in awe of the majestic Registan Square, walk the sacred path of the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis. We paid homage at the Guri Emir Mausoleum and the grand Bibi Khanum Mosque. We even learn how to make silk paper like they did in the Middle Ages!. We got hands-on during the Silk Paper visit & revived an ancient craft of making paper from Mulberry branches.
Our Samarkand experience culminates with a magical Cultural and Dancing Show and a traditional dinner in a local Uzbek guest house. A couple from our Group were invited to perform an Uzbek wedding ceremony. It was a exciting & wonderful celebration of love, expression of the deep connection and affection that bind couple together, symbolizing their unwavering commitment to stand by each other through thick and thin.
We watched a light show at 9 pm at Registan Square in Samarkand. The show, a combination of light, music, and 3D laser projections, illuminates the historic madrasahs. It tells the story of Samarkand's history. You can watch for free from the steps outside the square or pay to enter the complex. During November night it was pretty cold so make sure you have your jacket on. It lasted around 20 mins. light show which was entertaining and interesting to watch.
🐫 BUKHARA: Stepping off the train into a living museum. We explored the mighty Ark Fortress, and discover the stunning Poi Kalyan complex under the desert sun. The tour ends with the majestic Poi Kalyan Complex, where we'll be mesmerized by the minaret that even Genghis Khan refused to destroy. Watched the beautiful sunset slowly disappearing under the magnificent and stunning Islamic architecture.
This is a journey through 1,000 years of history, and I can't wait to share it all with you. This is more than a trip; it's a pilgrimage through history. The landscapes, the people, the food, and the awe-inspiring monuments will leave you speechless. The first video drops soon – don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss it!

Get ready for an epic Central Asia adventure! We crossed borders from the vibrant streets of Bishkek into the vast landscapes of Kazakhstan. We stood in awe looking at the iconic Zenkov Cathedral, journey deep into the 12-million-year-old Charyn Canyon, and felt how it was like being nomads, watched masters in the art of the eagle, mind-blowing falconry show, did horse riding and archery. This is raw, ancient, and unforgettable. What do you know about “Apple City”?. The name "Almaty" itself comes from the Kazakh word alma for "apple" and is often translated as "place of apples" or "father/origin of the apple". This is because the region in the Tian Shan mountains surrounding Almaty is the genetic homeland of the wild Malus sieversii, the ancestor of most modern domestic apples found worldwide. Apple seeds spread from the Tian Shan mountains via animals, birds, and human trade routes like the Silk Road, where they hybridized with other wild species to create the diversity of apples we see today.
Let's dive into the heart of Kazakhstan and beyond!. Enjoy.

February 2025, visited Xian and stayed at Novotel Xi an The Bell Tower Hotel, good location and comfy hotel. One of the best hotel I ever stayed. Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi province, is a city steeped in over 3100 years of history. Loving this China's oldest and most fascinating destinations. Esp awed me was the visit to Terracotta Army. It is a well-preserved Ancient City Wall, offer travelers a remarkable step back in time. The life-sized Terracotta Warriors and Horses were constructed to protect China's first emperor in the afterlife. Their ethereal presence never fails to leave travelers awestruck. Try to avoid peak season as it would get crowded. Meanwhile, climbing the Xi'an City Wall is a great way to admire panoramic views of the city and experience old Xi'an. It offers a plethora of other cultural landmarks and historical sites, including the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, the Muslim Quarter, and the Shaanxi History Museum. We went food hunting at the street food by the lanes selling all kind of local delicacies. But beware of eating seafood dishes (grilled) as it might not get too fresh by night time since the stores open from day time. Must try is Rou Jia Mo. Often called a "Chinese hamburger," this consists of shredded, braised pork belly stuffed into a flatbread. So yummy! Also ate those delicious Fried Dumplings. Steamed and pan-fried dumplings with fillings like beef, pork, or vegetables, often with a crispy bottom. Easy to travel around and make payment on app. Xian version of Grab is DiDi Chuxing (滴滴出行), often shortened to DiDi. It is China's dominant ride-hailing platform, similar to Grab and Uber, offering services like private car, taxi, and bike hailing. You can use an English version of the app for convenience when traveling to China. It allowing you to book a ride, track your driver, and pay through the app. Download the DiDi app and set it up with your phone number. For payment, you can add international credit cards, and the app also integrates with Chinese payment platforms like WeChat Pay and Alipay.
Don’t read Chinese?. No worries. The English version of the app can be used for booking and communication.
Super easy.

October 2025. We visited Kuala Sepetang, located near Taiping in Perak, Malaysia. A charming fishing village surrounded by beautiful mangrove forests. Remnants of the past, as we walked through the village morning & evening markets and coffee shops. The old Port Weld train station signage serves as reminders of its significant history. We went on boat cruise to visited the fish farm, Eagle feeding & fishing villages. We went to the charcoal factory at Kuala Sepetang. Interesting to see old-fashioned charcoal factory that bakes local mangrove logs in big kilns. They transported the mangrove logs via the small river by boat then transport the finished charcoal in bags of 30 kgs via road with lorries. Kuala Sepetang is one of the largest tracts of mangrove forest in the country so not surprised that the charcoal factory is located there for ample supply of mangrove logs. Do you know what are the various uses of charcoal? The charcoal can be used for cooking to filtration and cosmetics. The entire process of making charcoal takes about a month. The mangrove logs are stacked vertically inside the kiln and a big fire is made to burn the wood. Going through three-stage process to transform into charcoal. They are the Major Firing, the Minor Firing and the Cooling. We went for night fireflies watching. Such fascinating synchronized glowing of fireflies as everyone was just awed by its natural beauty. Seafood is fresh and lots of local snacks to choose from for the family.

On 19-27 Sept 2025, we visited Moscow (3 nights) and St Petersburg (3 nights) We had a great time & left with positive impression & experiences on both cities. They are indeed world-class cities with rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant cultures. Cities are clean and we saw police presence which means they are there for protection of public order.
With its unique architecture, we saw iconic onion domes, spectacular grand imperial palaces, and Soviet-era monumental buildings. It offered us a visual experience unlike any other.
With its deep history, from the Tsars to the Soviet Union to the modern day. It was palpable and fascinating indeed. Not forgetting its rich culture for its world-renowned contributions to literature, music (classical and modern), ballet, and art. We toured with Easy Europe Holidays Sdn Bhd. Itinerary was not too hectic and the local tour guides were very good as they were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable with great passion of ensuring that we are inform about all the attractions we visited. They told us in details the history behind each places we visited and even taught us some Russian words and greetings. So look out for exciting raw video footage of our trip to Moscow and St Petersburg!

April 2025. Cancun, Mexico here we come ! We took United Airlines flight from Newark Liberty International Airport to Cancun International Airport. The duration of the flight was 4 hours. We stayed at Canopy by Hilton la Isla, located next to La Isla Outlet Mall within the Hotel Zone. The Hotel Zone is the main tourist area of Cancun and is very walkable. Cancun is located at southeastern Mexico. Known for its turquoise beaches, immersive Mayan culture, and opulent hotels & numerous resorts and nightlife. Must visit besides Chichen Itza (The 7th Wonder of the World) is Cancun “water holes" or cenotes. It is natural swimming holes formed by collapsing limestone that create underground freshwater pools and rivers on the Yucatán Peninsula.
We stayed 5 nights at Canopy by Hilton la Isla Cancun, Mexico. We booked our local tours with hotel travel agent for it’s deemed more reliable. We paid a full day trip for next morning and half day trip for another day. Full trip was to Valladolid cenote plus lunch and to Chichen Itza while a short stop over at Plaza e Parque Francisco Canton town square and park before heading back to hotel in the evening. Snacks and drinks were provided during the tour with English speaking tour guide. Best to visit the cenote early as by noon, it gets crowded.
Half day tour to Tulum. Our Mexican local guide’s last name is Chang. Interesting to know that his ancestor came from China to settle in Mexico. Tulum is the site of a pre-Columbian Mayan walled city which served as a major port for Coba, in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo.
Check out my coming videos & see our Cancun adventure!
