10,000 Deskies.

That’s… insane.

When I started TheBarneyDesk, I saw it as a place to dump random edits I had made. Then I thought it would be cool to talk about random Barney things I knew or had learned about. Things like the art style evolutions, or how I’d rank all the songs, or little deep dives about how Barney somehow got tangled into some sort of legal controversy. Maybe it was a video about the Ball Taker. Maybe it was a little horror film about a ringmaster. But somehow 10,000 of you decided, “yeah this is pretty cool, I’ll stick around for this”.

I don’t take that lightly.

I really do this because I love it. I love digging into the history. I love finding the tiny production details nobody else noticed. I love turning something people dismiss as “just a kids show” into something worth talking about seriously. Barney is something so close to my heart. It taught me so many great things, and now as an adult, it reminds me of memories with my parents and moments from my childhood. There’s something really satisfying about taking this show that was engraved in my brain and uncovering layers that were always there but never really explored.

It’s not effortless, though. I work on this channel every single day, whenever I can. Researching, scripting, rewriting (because I always make my scripts too long lol), editing, tweaking thumbnails, second guessing titles, fixing one tiny frame that’s off by two pixels, or pouring over legal documents and newspaper scans about a 1994 lawsuit at 4am when I really just want to go to sleep. It really is a full time job. There are definitely moments where it’s overwhelming.

But at the end of the day it really is all worth it. I love seeing what you guys say in the comments or the conversations we get to have. I love when someone says they learned something new or saw Barney differently because of a video I made. There’s no better feeling than that. A special extra shoutout to my Gold and Platinum Deskies, your support goes so far in helping me do what I love.

I also need to give a massive shoutout to everyone who has lent their talents to this channel. To the incredibly talented people who have so graciously made music, drawn art, edited, or contributed to one of my projects, thank you so much. You’ve helped make my visions a reality, and I am so grateful for you guys.

This isn’t the 10K celebration, I do have something fun planned for a proper 10K special. It’s going to take a bit to put together the right way, but I hope it’ll be worth the wait. I also have another big project coming up soon that I cannot wait for you to see. Let's just say, it’s been taking up a lot of my whiteboard space lately. This is not to mention all the other incredible stuff coming in 2026 and beyond. (Hadley says hello btw!)

Seriously, thank you. Whether you’ve been here since the early videos or you just found the channel last week, whether you consider yourself a Deskie or a proud member of the Riffnation, you’re part of this. I could say it in hundreds of different ways, but I’ll just say it plainly:
