1. Drink clean water- Boil the water and drink always.
2. Keep Your Surroundings Clean - Ensure that there is no open water storage in and around your home to reduce mosquitoes breeding grounds.
3. Protect yourself against the allergens- Avoid outside foods, wash hands regularly, Add any disinfectant like dettol, Savlon to the bathwater. Avoid walking in the rain, keep the doors and windows closed to avoid mosquitoes and other insects.
4. Don't touch Electrical wires- stay away from electric wires—especially the ones that have either fallen from heavy rain, Avoid parking your vehicles directly under power lines or next to utility pole.
5. Drive Slowly and Carefully - Road accidents are quite common during this period since roads become more slippery.Avoid making any sudden turns, rash driving, keep distance between vehicles. Don’t forget to check your brakes, tires and wipers before driving in such weather as well.
6.Prepare an Emergency Kit - Frequent power breakdowns are also common during monsoon. Most places are prone to flooding. So always be ready - have an emergency battery light, keep medicines, first aid kids and groceries stocked.
