Is Day 4 of the Lunar New Year really about asking for blessings… or is it about understanding timing?

Every year when Day 4 comes around, I notice people shift into ritual mode. More incense. More offerings. Longer prayers. Almost like Heaven has just reopened, and now is the best time to submit fresh requests for a better year. It feels comforting. It feels proactive. But if we’re honest, that mindset still assumes something outside of us needs to change first.

Today *Day 4" symbolises the reconnection of Heaven and Earth. In practical terms, the soft suspension of the first few days comes to an end. Movement resumes. Decisions pick up speed. The environment becomes active again. And if metaphysics is about recognising patterns of environmental energy, then this isn’t a begging moment. It’s a positioning moment.

So what should you do?

Use today to check your alignment. Be strategic. When momentum returns, are you clear about your direction? Have you decided on your priorities? Or are you still waiting for clarity to magically appear once things start moving? Because once acceleration begins, hesitation is quickly exposed.

And what should you not do?

Don’t over-activate. Don’t suddenly force new plans just because the year feels like it’s “starting properly.” Don’t treat ritual as leverage. This year especially, speed amplifies whatever is already there. If you’re positioned, it compounds. If you’re scattered, it multiplies the mess.

Today is definitely not about impressing Heaven but making sure you are ready when the pattern shifts.
