Oh God, Your Word says that Your mercies are new every morning. We thank You for this new day. We thank You for the breath in our lungs, even though we have used that breath to speak harshness. We thank You for the beating of our hearts, even though our hearts have been hardened by pride. Thank You, Jesus, that You do not treat us as our sins deserve. If You kept a record of wrongs, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared. We enter into this time of prayer with a spirit of awakening.
