Witnessing the increasing importance of military diplomacy in the rapidly changing geostrategic landscape, India has decided to expand the number of its defense attachés.
According to information from the armed forces, India had defense attachés in a total of 45 countries by 2024. This number has now increased to 52. The goal is to establish defense attachés in more than 90 countries by 2032. Defense attachés, who are senior officers from any of the three branches of the armed forces, are posted in the defense wings established within Indian embassies or high commissions in various countries.
In larger countries, more than one defense attaché may be appointed as needed. The objective of this initiative is not to form military alliances, but to enhance defense cooperation, as the importance of the armed forces is growing not only in warfare but also in areas such as humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, peacekeeping operations, and counter-terrorism cooperation.

Defense Attache

These officers, stationed in other countries, represent their nation’s military interests at the diplomatic level. Under the Vienna Convention, they enjoy the same privileges and immunities as diplomats.
Defense attachés share their country’s military policies, perspectives, and priorities. They contribute to joint military exercises, training programs, and defense equipment agreements. They also gather strategic information related to military security that can assist in India’s foreign policy and defense decisions. Typically, military officers of the rank of Brigadier, Colonel, or higher are selected for this position, so that they possess an understanding of both military and diplomatic affairs.

तेजी से बदलते भू-रणनीतिक हाला से सैन्य कूटनीति का बढ़ता महत्व देख भारत ने अपने डिफंेस विंग की संख्या बढ़ाने का फैसला किया है।
सेना से मिली जानकारी के अनुसार, साल 2024 तक कुल 45 देशों में भारत के डिफंेस विंग थे। वर्तमान में यह संख्या बढ़कर 52 हो गई है। साल 2032 तक 90 से ज्यादा देशों में डिफेंस विंग खोलने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है। विभिन्न देशों में भारतीय दूतावासों या उच्चायोगों में खुली डिफेंस विंग में डिफंेस अताशे तैनात होते हैं, जो तीनों में से किसी भी सेना के बड़े अफसर हो सकते हैं।
बडे़ देशों में जरूरत के मुताबिक एक से ज्यादा डिफेंस अताशे भी रखे जा सकते हैं। इस मुहिम का उद्देश्य सैन्य गठबंधन करना नहीं है, बल्कि रक्षा सहयोग बढ़ाना है क्योंकि युद्ध के अलावा मानवीय सहायता, आपदा राहत, शांति सेना, आतंकरोधी सहयोग जैसे क्षेत्रों में भी सेना का महत्व बढ़ रहा है।

डिफेंस अताशे

किसी अन्य देश में तैनात ये अधिकारी राजनयिक स्तर पर अपने देश के सैन्य हितों का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हैं। विएना कन्वेंशन के तहत उन्हें राजनयिकों के समान विशेषाधिकार और इम्युनिटी मिलती है।

The first Vande Bharat sleeper train will run between Guwahati and Kolkata.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that this service on the Kolkata-Guwahati route will start from January 18 or 19.
This train can travel at a speed of 180 km/h, and its final high-speed trial was completed on the Kota-Nagda section. It will have a total of 16 coaches, including 11 AC-3 tier, four AC-2 tier, and one AC first-class coach.

पहली वंदे भारत स्लीपर टेªन गुवाहाटी और कोलकाता के बीच चलाई जाएगी।

India will get its first bullet train next year on August 15th. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the bullet train will first run on the Surat-Bilimora section. In the second phase, it will start operating between Vapi and Surat, and then between Vapi and Ahmedabad. After that, the Thane to Ahmedabad and Mumbai to Ahmedabad routes will be opened.
The trains on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor will run at speeds of up to 320 km/hour. This project, being developed with the cooperation of Japan, is expected to be completed by 2029.
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, being built for the operation of the bullet train, is approximately 508 km long.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully completed user trials of the Akash-NG (New Generation) missile system.
These tests were conducted from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha.
This missile is an upgraded version of the older Akash missile.
It is a medium-range, indigenously developed, mobile surface-to-air missile (SAM) system.

Range – 70-80 km (significantly more than the 25-30 km of the older Akash missile)
Altitude – 30 meters to 20 km
Speed - 2.5 times the speed of sound
This missile was developed by DRDO and manufactured by Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL).

रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (डीआरडीओ) ने आकाश-एनजी (नई पीढ़ी) मिसाइल प्रणाली के उपयोगकर्ता परीक्षण सफलतापूर्वक पूरे कर लिए है।

The Indian Air Force has acquired a new indigenous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) called Arya. This UAV can penetrate deep into enemy territory, up to 350 kilometers away, at very high speeds to carry out special operations.
Arya can fly at a speed of 180 kilometers per hour with a 20-kilogram payload and can remain airborne for approximately 4 hours on a single flight.
Importantly, the Arya UAV can operate effectively even in areas where GPS signals are unavailable or where there are challenges such as electronic warfare.
Arya can be equipped with day and night vision cameras, mapping cameras, and other intelligence-gathering equipment.
Weighing approximately 55 kilograms, Arya has a wingspan of 4.6 meters, a length of 3.5 meters, and a height of 0.8 meters.

वायुसेना को एक नया स्वदेशी मानवरहित हवाई वाहन (यूएवी) आर्य मिल गया है। यह यूएवी बेहद तेज गति से दुश्मन के इलाके में 350 किलोमीटर दूर तक घुसकर स्पेशल आॅपरेशन अंजाम दे सकता है।
आर्य 20 किलोग्राम के पेलोड के साथ 180 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा की रफ्तार से उड़ान भर सकता है। साथ ही एक बार उड़ान भरने के बाद करीब 4 घंटे हवा में रह सकता है।
खास बात यह है कि आर्य यूएवी ऐसे इलाकों में भी प्रभावी ढंग से काम कर सकता है जहां जीपीएस सिग्नल उपलब्ध न हों या इलेक्ट्रानिक युद्ध जैसी चुनौतियां हों।
आर्य में दिन और रात दोनों समय देखने वाले कैमरे, मैपिंग कैमरे और खुफिया जानकारी जुटाने वाले अन्य उपकरण लगाए जा सकते हैं।
