These were the first plastic vehicles Citadel ever made.
In 1987 you could buy three Mk1 Rhinos for ÂŁ9.99.
I bought one box. Thought that was plenty.
If only I’d known…
In the new video I’m restoring my original Rogue Trader-era Rhinos — repairing the handrails properly this time, replacing the exhausts, repainting them in Fighting Tigers camouflage, and getting them back on the table where they belong.
No lore deep dive.
Just the models.
And a bit of history.
If you remember these kits — or if you’ve never seen one up close — I think you’ll enjoy this one.
See you on the battlefield.

A Big Thank You ❤️
This week the channel became a YouTube Partner, and I honestly couldn’t let the moment pass without saying thank you properly.
What started back in August 2024 as a few informal videos of a wargame table project has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of — and that’s entirely because of the support, encouragement, comments, ideas, and enthusiasm from this community.
To everyone who’s watched, commented, subscribed, shared ideas, or just quietly enjoyed the builds from the sidelines: thank you. You’ve kept me motivated more times than you probably realise.
I’m looking forward to getting back to the workbench and pushing the channel forward — staying narrative, inclusive, and focused on the joy of the hobby.
See you on the battlefield soon. ⚔️

I’ve just published a new video digging into the doctrine of my Fighting Tigers Space Marine Chapter.
This one starts with the full infographic — how the chapter is structured, how it fights, and why it works the way it does — and then unpacks the thinking behind it.
Most of this force was built back in the late ’80s during Rogue Trader, so this is as much about organising a real, physical collection as it is about lore.
If you enjoy old-school 40k, chapter building, or seeing how narrative and organisation come together on the tabletop, this one’s for you.

New video is live!
We are building a Chapter of Space Marines with as many original minis possible, and I’m genuinely glad so many of you are along for the journey.
A lot of this project comes down to one idea: rescued, not replaced.
These models have history, and finishing them matters more to me than chasing the newest thing.
If you’ve got old figures sitting in boxes — or memories of building armies this way — I’d love to hear about them.
What’s the oldest model you still own, or the project you always meant to finish?
This chapter is getting built with as many original miniatures as possible, and I’m genuinely glad so many of you are along for the journey.

LIVESTREAM – (Sunday 18 January), 3–5pm (UK)
📺 youtube.com/live/l3uTKzqF9IE?si=DJMZKZ8FwzU9iHdD
This is my Fighting Tigers Space Marines force, most of it acquired in 1987–88, when Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader was first released, built with what I could afford as a student, I never even finished a single company and then it all went into storage for years.
In this livestream, we are laying the army out in formation and deciding how the chapter grows next, using a stash of retro Space Marines — first edition where possible, second edition when needed, and a narrative approach throughout.

Livestream Sunday 18 Jan 2026
youtube.com/live/l3uTKzqF9IE?si=DJMZKZ8FwzU9iHdD
Most of my Fighting Tigers Space Marines were bought in 1987–88, right at the launch of Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader.
They weren’t optimised, they were simply what I could afford in my student days, and then they went into a box and stayed there for years.
Now it’s time to finish the company… and decide how it grows.
This Sunday I’ll be live, opening two boxes of retro, classic Space Marines, there's bikes, Rhinos, Dreadnoughts, Scouts, and forgotten metal figures - to decide who deserves a place in the Fighting Tigers.
We won't be adding any modern releases to the chapter, first edition where possible, second edition when I have to, all in the spirit of Rogue Trader, early White Dwarf articles, Chapter Approved, and narrative play.
đź“… Sunday 18 January
⏰ 3–5pm UK time
We open the boxes… and let the past decide.

Normally there’s a video up over the weekend — but this time, real life and model-making got in the way.
Rather than rush something out, I went back to the box and pulled out one of our oldest terrain projects: a grimdark ruined city built long before kits existed, and still used after more than 20 years of gaming.
The new video is live now.
Old-school materials. No shortcuts. Still standing.
Thanks for sticking with the channel — and as always, I’ll see you on the Battlefield.

The tugboat build is now live.
This one follows on from the submarine, but shifts the focus back to the docks — harbours, warehouses, working boats, and the sort of terrain that quietly holds a table together.
The tug started life as a well-used radio-control model and has been repurposed into fully playable 28mm dockside terrain for pulp and narrative skirmish games. No display piece, no strict history — just something solid, practical, and built to be used in games.
If you’re running (or thinking about running) dockside, harbour, or waterfront scenarios, I’d be really interested to hear how you’d use a piece like this on the table.
As always, thanks for watching and supporting the channel.

New video is live.
This one sits right at the crossroads of things I really enjoy — pulp skirmish games, big characterful models, and painting for story rather than strict history.
It’s a U-boat… but not a naval one. Painted as if it’s been pushed far inland, working its way up a jungle river in a lost-world kind of scenario. The sort of model that asks questions rather than gives answers.
If you’re into pulp adventure, narrative skirmish gaming, or painting models to feel lived-in rather than pristine, this one’s for you.
As always, I’d love to know how you would use something like this on your table.
See you on the battlefield.

Burnout sneaks up on all of us at some point, even when we still love the hobby.
This one’s about how I deal with it without walking away from wargaming.
If you’ve ever felt stuck, tired, or just a bit flat with the hobby, you’re not alone - and I’d genuinely like to hear what works for you...
