If you think dry droppers are only for summer… think again.

This was our first fish of the day — and we couldn’t believe how pretty it was (that winter color is unreal).

Winter dry droppers aren’t always about fish eating the dry fly (Chubby Chernobyl)… although two did that day. It’s more about spotting those super subtle nymph eats.

This time of year trout don’t always crush a nymph — they sip it — and a dry fly can show that tiny hesitation way better than a big indicator.
