“Today we celebrated the opening of Kandies Mini Mart through the Green Grocer Program, expanding access to fresh, healthy food in the Dexter-Linwood neighborhood

Thanks to Jacquisha Blackwell's leadership, families can shop fresh and close to home. This is how we build healthier, stronger communities.

Grateful to Council President Pro Tem Young for championing this effort because when we support small businesses, we uplift our neighborhoods.” -Mayor Mary Sheffield

“Our families should not have to wait for support.

That is why I made it a priority to launch Rx Kids within the first 100 days of this administration. This program provides a $1,500 cash prescription during pregnancy, followed by $500 per month during a baby's first six months of life, giving families real help when it matters most.

This is about meeting families where they are and making sure every child has a strong start.” -Mayor Mary Sheffield #DreamBigRiseHigher

Freezing temperatures can lead to water main breaks and frozen pipes.
If pipes inside your home freeze or burst, call DWSD at 313-267-8000 to request a temporary water shutoff, then contact a licensed plumber.

To help prevent frozen pipes:
    •    Keep your thermostat at 55° or higher
    •    Insulate meter areas
    •    Allow faucets along exterior walls to drip during extreme cold

Report street flooding, water main breaks, or other water issues through the Improve Detroit app or by calling 313-267-8000
