Another update. Almost there, still a lot of tweaks to do and some mistakes I need to fix. I'm going to have to re-render the Enterprise, as it's closer to the cube in the poster than in my render. The stars need that warp trail effect I did in AE too.

Link to my AE warp trail. This is done in old dog AE CS6 (but should open in newer versions).

Some basic instructions. You need to render a luminosity pass in your 3d package output. You don't have to, but it's much easier to isolate light passes as layers and put them on top of a moving object (enterprise etc) with a screen or add blend mode.

Now, you'll need to play with the settings if you don't see anything. Specifically echo time, number of echos, decay and others in order to make the trail effect longer or shorter. It's a bit involved, but once you nail it, it looks nice.

To get the exact same effect as mine I used deep glow and RSMB (real smart motion blur) but I removed them so you don't get an error. But deepglow gives it a nice glow effect, which could probably be replicated with a few more copes of glow. RSMB gives it a nice smooth blur.

Aight, finally finished with this. It's not 100% a match, but should work. I made the trail light effect AE btw, if anyone wants the file let me know. I might post a screenshot of the settings I used, worked like a charm and no plugins needed.

Next is finishing doing the Enterprise warp trail and should be ready to render.

A long time subscriber and loyal supporter of the channel got their channel deleted recently. This hasn't been an isolated incident, lots of channels have been cut by yt.
If my channel gets cancelled, you can find me on IG. I don't post all the time there, just renders from time to time, but it's a way to reach out if you see my content gone. Hopefully that won't happen, but yt has been acting weird lately.

A quick wip update. Worked some more on the scene, but not happy about some things still. You see, the borg cube in the poster looks quite a bit more different than the one in the movie, it's as if it has more panels. It looks more like a matte painting than a real object. So I thought of photoshoping out the cube from the poster and plaster it onto a simple plane geometry, but might end up looking too 2D and lack depth. So anyway, adding motion blur helped and color grading might get me closer to the poster.

Cpl updates. Early stages of matching the perspective the ST FC poster. The yellow wireframe is the borg cube. Will post more updates as I make progress on it

Second update. Marc Bell has gifted the community with this gorgeous Enterprise F model, with textures by Christian Hicks. Have been waiting a long time for this beauty. I just need to port it into LW so I can use it but there's a vray version I need to test. So expect to see at ton of animations of her in the near future. :)

Always wanted to see the scene in this poster. It looked so good and made me think we'd get a borg chase scene akin to the original show, but we never got it! So I'm thinking of redoing this poster into an animation.
