In my opinion, people underestimate the impact that risk tolerance has on the ability to tap into this flow state of mind.
This can be easily monitored by analyzing the characteristics of different traders and their behaviours.
The characteristic of a trader who risks too much is one who hesitates, has emotions like fear, their nervous, and irrational and closes trades early to mellow out the emotions they are feeling and take back control.
The Characteristics of a trader who risks too little is one that does not care about the next result, they have so much acceptance of the risk they took, that they do not care to even follow their plan. Usually resulting in trading movement and not an opportunity
The characteristics of a trader who is trading in their ideal risk tolerance will accept the risk but also respect the risk enough to follow their plan.
Their behaviour allows them to execute flawlessly, review without regret and dig themselves out of strong drawdown periods to last another quarter.
