When Dr Fred M’membe sat down on the Kenny T 1 on 1 Podcast. Kenny T asked him a simple but powerful question that was left by the previous guest Reverend Walter Mwambazi

“If you had a chance to start your life all over again, would you change anything or leave it the same?” The question read.

Dr M’membe gave an honest and touching response. He admitted that there are many things he would do differently. But there are also things he would never change.

“I would not change my principles, I would change the tactics because tactics change all the time. Strategies can be adapted, but principles do not change,” he said.

For him, the values he has stood for all his life remain firm. From his teenage years, he joined the liberation struggle of the continent. It was not just a phase, it became his life. He grew in it, sacrificed for it and he lost a lot because of it.

He spoke openly about the personal cost of that commitment. He said he did not have time to simply be young, he did not have time to play. He lost his late teenage years, his twenties and a good part of his thirties to the struggle he believed in.

Dr M’membe also had advice for young people. He encouraged them to stand for causes they believe in, but warned them not to lose themselves in the process.

Looking back, he acknowledged that losing those youthful years created challenges. Yet, despite the sacrifices, his principles remain unshaken.

Before Facebook rants, trending hashtags or TikTok drama, there was The Post Newspaper.

On the Kenny T 1 on 1 Podcast, Dr Fred M’membe took many of us down memory lane. He shared how The Post Newspaper was started in 1990 and believe it or not, it was not even fully his idea at the beginning.

Three of his friends pitched the idea to him and brought him on board because he had experience working with different publications.

But here’s where it gets interesting. After the paper was launched, the same friends left him to run it alone.

Fast forward The Post became Zambia’s go-to paper for bold headlines, hot debates and stories that had everyone talking in buses, offices, markets and even at family dinners.

Back in the day, The Post was not just a newspaper, it was the conversation starter. It shaped debates, influenced opinions. It made headlines that people discussed in buses, offices, markets and even at family gatherings. people would queue by the roadside just to grab the latest news, that just goes to show how much influence it had

If you’ve ever seen Reverend Walter Mwambazi, there’s one thing you simply can’t ignore, the wet look on his head. Before he introduces himself the hairstyle gets you first.

For years, people have speculated. Some thought it was a deliberate fashion choice, others assumed it was just his signature look. But on the Kenny T 1 on 1 Podcast, Rev Mwambazi finally opened up about how it all started and the story goes way back.

Long before the title Reverend, Mwambazi was a creative. While in high school, he was part of a hip hop group, a space where image mattered just as much as talent. In the artistry world, you don’t only express yourself through music, your look is part of the performance.

Depending on his mood, the event or the message they wanted to send, the hairstyle had to change. One day this style, the next day something completely different. Experimenting was normal and fun.

But creativity came with consequences. Over time, constantly changing hairstyles, experimenting with products and pushing his hair to the limit began to take a toll. Eventually, the damage caught up with him leading to the look many people now recognize as his trademark wet look.

On the podcast, Rev Mwambazi tells the story in his own words, with humor and detail that makes you see him differently.
