हर भारतीय नागरिक के लिए हर साल 26 नवंबर का दिन बेहद खास होता है। दरअसल यही वह दिन है जब देश की संविधान सभा ने मौजूदा संविधान को विधिवत रूप से अपनाया था। यह संविधान ही है जो हमें एक आजाद देश का आजाद नागरिक की भावना का एहसास कराता है। जहां संविधान के दिए मौलिक अधिकार हमारी ढाल बनकर हमें हमारा हक दिलाते हैं, वहीं इसमें दिए मौलिक कर्तव्य में हमें हमारी जिम्मेदारियां भी याद दिलाते हैं। हर वर्ष 26 नवंबर का दिन देश में संविधान दिवस के तौर पर मनाया जाता है। 26 नवंबर को राष्ट्रीय कानून दिवस के रूप में भी जाना जाता है।
26 नवंबर, 1949 को ही देश की संविधान सभा ने वर्तमान संविधान को विधिवत रूप से अपनाया था। हालांकि इसे 26 जनवरी, 1950 को लागू किया गया था।

• कब और क्यों लिया गया संविधान दिवस मनाने का फैसला?
-> साल 2015 में संविधान के निर्माता डॉ. आंबेडकर के 125वें जयंती वर्ष के रूप में 26 नवंबर को सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता मंत्रालय ने इस दिवस को 'संविधान दिवस' के रूप में मनाने के केंद्र सरकार के फैसले को अधिसूचित किया था। संवैधानिक मूल्यों के प्रति नागरिकों में सम्मान की भावना को बढ़ावा देने के लिए यह दिवस मनाया जाता है।
भारतीय संविधान विश्व का सबसे लंबा लिखित संविधान है। इसके कई हिस्से यूनाइटेड किंगडम, अमेरिका, जर्मनी, आयरलैंड, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, कनाडा और जापान के संविधान से लिये गये हैं। इसमें देश के नागरिकों के मौलिक अधिकारों, कर्तव्यों, सरकार की भूमिका, प्रधानमंत्री, राष्ट्रपति, राज्यपाल और मुख्यमंत्री की शक्तियों का वर्णन किया गया है। विधानपालिका, कार्यपालिका और न्यायपालिका का क्या काम है, उनकी देश को चलाने में क्या भूमिका है, इन सभी बातों का जिक्र संविधान में है।

• कितने दिन में हुआ तैयार ?
-> पूरा संविधान तैयार करने में 2 वर्ष, 11 माह 18 दिन लगे थे। यह 26 नवंबर, 1949 को पूरा हुआ था। 26 जनवरी, 1950 को भारत गणराज्य का यह संविधान लागू हुआ था।
- संविधान की असली कॉपी प्रेम बिहारी नारायण रायजादा ने हाथ से लिखी थी। ये बेहतरीन कैलीग्राफी के जरिए इटैलिक अक्षरों में लिखी गई है। इसके हर पन्ने को शांतिनिकेतन के कलाकारों ने सजाया था।
- संविधान की असली प्रतियां हिंदी और इंग्लिश दो भाषाओं में लिखी गई थीं। इन्हें आज भी भारत की संसद में हीलियम भरे डिब्बों में सुरक्षित रखा गया है।
