Hey everyone, quick update on the goings on as of late, as many of you will have realized it's been a while since I've uploaded anything.

I am currently in Virginia for a leadership course in the Army and spent the last couple weeks prior to leaving preparing for that. I am done with phase 1 of the course and I'm a week into phase 2. All goes according to plan, I'll graduate and be back in Washington by the 20th next month.

The good news is I have a couple of videos lined up for when I return. One of them is the 2025 End of year recap (only 2 months behind schedule, lol).

As for the other one? Well, Fort Eustis just so happens to be near a CSX mainline! The traffic here is scarce, almost exclusively loaded and empty coal trains arriving and departing Newport News, VA, with the occasional Amtrak Northeast Regional train, and some local activity; so there will be at least one High Iron video coming out from my time here on the eastern seaboard (fingers crossed I can spot a CSX heritage unit)!

Hey everyone. I apologize for not really adhering to my typical weekly upload schedule lately, as well as my uploads exclusively being High Iron episodes. I have had a lot of goings on in my personal and professional life where I had to de-prioritize some things, and this channel has unfortunately been one of those things I had to de-prioritize.

This sucks, because I really enjoy making videos here no matter how big or small my audience. I still want to post quality content about the hobby I'm most passionate about.

I feel it is fair that I give you guys a couple details for what's going on so you have an idea of why I have been more inconsistent lately.

I recently got engaged, and my fiancé and I have been knee deep in planning and talking about next steps for us. To be honest, my fiancé has been doing most of the planning and I have mostly been helping with things when asked, I have an insane amount of gratitude for her because I would be a deer caught in headlights without her and her family leading the planning and prep.

As my long term viewers are aware, I have been in the military for longer than this channel has been actively posting videos (I'm nearing 7 years now) and I am at the point where despite (1) my specific job not needing Staff Sergeants, (2) my desire to get out soon, and (3) My points being nowhere near high enough to promote in the time I have left, I am being looked at to pick up Staff Sergeant. As a result, I am preparing to go to a leadership school on the other side of the country, as well as attending promotion boards (yes, plural... iykyk) and that has been sucking a TON of free time away from me. In addition, the shop I work in is losing experienced people faster than we can gain anyone (experienced or not). So my free time has gotten so minimal, that I'm even eating away at my time to sleep just to feel like I have a little bit of agency in my life.

The High Iron videos are generally the easiest videos for me to make, so those are my go-to when things get busy. But once I make my way back to a more stable life situation, I hope my upload schedule will look more stable and the videos will be more varied. Please stay with me. I have a bunch of ideas for high quality (for an amateur video creator, at least) content to upload, including some video essays.

Hey everyone, so I've had a experiences with delays in video uploads lately and I feel I owe a bit of an explanation.

Part of it is, yes, I've been busy with my personal life and work and whatnot, but honestly, I've been able to balance those out fairly well.

My biggest obstacle as of late is my editing process. Whenever I export a video to be uploaded to YouTube, the export will complete, and the video won't show up in my gallery until at least a day later, which in turn, means my upload is delayed by a couple days at worst.

Until I figure out the fix, just know I still plan on uploading weekly, but that the specific say the video comes up will vary by a day or two.

Hey guys! So sorry for the bug lapse in videos lately. My phone decided to stop working and I had to get a new one (I primarily do all my editing on the phone). And what's worse, my old phone stopped working in such a way that made data recovery all but impossible, so I lost anything that wasn't saved to any of my cloud services.

That included a lot of the stuff I use to edit together my videos. So that meant I had to re-edit everything from scratch.

The good news is, for the most part, that stuff is all back. So I can start putting together videos again. I will probably be missing this week, but next week, I should be starting back up again. I'll try to make those videos longer too, to make up for the weeks I missed uploads.

Hey guys, there won't be any uploads this week. Unfortunately, I had some difficulty with my phone and had to get a new one. What's worse is because my old phone is pretty much just a brick now, data recovery is going to be really hard.
