प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ED) ने 11 फरवरी यानि बुधवार को उत्तर प्रदेश के संतकबीर नगर और आजमगढ़ जिलों में मौलाना शमशुल हुदा खान के ठिकानों पर पीएमएलए (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) के तहत छापेमारी की। लखनऊ से पहुंची ED टीम ने संतकबीर नगर के खलीलाबाद कोतवाली क्षेत्र और आजमगढ़ के मुबारकपुर में उनके आवासों सहित कुल चार ठिकानों पर सर्च ऑपरेशन चलाया।

इस कार्रवाई के दौरान 17 अचल संपत्तियों के दस्तावेज बरामद हुए, जिनका घोषित मूल्य लगभग 3 करोड़ रुपये है लेकिन बाजार मूल्य 20 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक होने का अनुमान है। ED को संदेह है कि ये संपत्तियां मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग के जरिए अर्जित की गई हैं।
