Silver Mustang Ranch

Two retired veterans turned ranchers! We left city scenes and moved to Wyoming to start our journey in agriculture! We are living our dreams on a 280-acre ranch with some beautiful Scottish Highland cows, 4 horses, 4 donkeys, 3 mustangs, 5 dogs, and one barn cat!

Actual image of me, trying to do something I have no idea how to and that my husband said he'd do it 🤭🤣

That's all I could think of looking at this photo. And for Lainie, that's not how you make baby, sweetheart 😆.

Maybe she just tried to give Stewart a deep tissue massage or something 😁

Good morning and happy Wednesday, lovelies 😘

Silver Mustang Ranch

Today marks 26 years since Mr. Farmer went to bootcamp training in Parris Island, SC. I was already there 10 days!

As I mentioned in my previous post, the name Silver Mustang has two meanings and on this special occasion, I want to share it with you all!

Obviously, Mustangs are wild horses. However, in the Armed Forces, a Mustang is a military member who has transitioned from an enlisted rank to become a commissioned officer!

Both my husband and I started our military career as enlisted members in the US Marine Corps.

After we obtained our Bachelor's degree, I got commissioned as an officer in the Navy Medical Service Corps.

Two years after I transferred to the Navy, Tony got commissioned as a Combat Engineer in the Marine Corps. This transition earned us the title Mustang!

We continued to serve until eligible to retire...I did 20 years even and he did 22.5 years. At the time of our retirement, we both wear silver on our uniform collar. He was a Captain (O-3) in the Marine Corps and I was a Lieutenant (O-3) in the Navy.

When we decided the name of our ranch, we thought Silver Mustang would fit perfectly. We hoped that one day, we would find a silver wild horse to be the mascot of the ranch!

Since we moved to Wyoming 4 years ago, we looked and waited for the right opportunity.

It finally came and we adopted not one but two Mustangs. One for Tony and one for me, well our daughter claimed Moonshine as hers 😆.

Now you all know the real meaning behind Silver Mustang Ranch 🐎 ❤️

Happy 26th anniversary to this guy!
