Hey guys! Please read this for some important info on my channel!

So. Basically for the past eight months or so, the algorithm has really killed my channel. My videos are being recommended less and people aren't seeing my videos regularly anymore. While I'd like to say it doesn't bother me, the consistent drop in views, subscribers, and overall interactions with my content has been really disheartening. I still love editing videos and some of my recent videos have been some of my favorites that I've edited in a while, but they've done terribly in comparison to my videos a year ago.

Essentially what happened was there was a huge drop in viewer interactions with my content after I stopped posting most viewed videos last summer. I knew that was going to happen and I fully expected it to when I made that decision. What I didn't foresee was what would come after that--when my channel saw a drastic drop in views and watch-rates, it decided that my channel was dying and stopped showing my videos and channels in searches, subscription boxes, and recommended videos. My content just isn't being promoted and boosted because YouTube figured that people weren't interested anymore. While it is true that not all of my subscribers were into other content that wasn't most viewed videos, the drastic change in how YouTube was pushing my channel and videos had a huge impact on my channel beyond just that.

Videos I posted a year ago of similar nature to videos I'm posting now have at least 3 times the views. For example, 2 years ago I posted a video about 'my favorite cute/refreshing/happy k-pop songs'. It has 27,000 views. I posted a video about 'k-pop songs to kickstart your summer 2022' about a week ago and it has 200 views. On a smaller scale, I posted a video about k-pop songs laced with crack a year ago that has 3,000 views. 6 months ago, I posted a video about 'parts in kpop songs that make my adhd brain go brrr', that has 700 views. Had I posted these videos a year/a year and a half ago, they would have done just as well as my other content did.

I tried to see this channel out and had hope that eventually my channel would start gaining again but I really think YouTube has essentially killed any chance I have of my videos and content gaining traction again. I decided that constantly fighting the algorithm and getting discouraged when videos I really enjoyed didn't do well wasn't worth the fight.

So, what I've decided to do is start over. I'm not leaving YouTube, but I am creating a new channel as I don't think this channel will be able to do anything more for me. I'll still be posting the same type of content and videos, just on a new channel to start fresh with a clear mind and no expectations or past numbers to live up to. I'm not deleting anything from this channel, just all future content will be uploaded to a new channel.

If you'd like to stay subscribed, please go and subscribe to my new channel! (Where I've conveniently kept a very similar name to this one.) www.youtube.com/channel/UCjb9...

Thank you for all of your support on this channel and I'm excited to start fresh! <3

I've kept quiet on all of this "plagiarism" stuff going down in kpop the past few weeks, but I have one thing I want to say lol

The world of k-pop would be a much better place if fans took 2 seconds to google search sampling in music + realize that yes, it is legal to sample songs that are FREE to sample or if you have been given permission. HOWEVER, you can't just sample a song without permission and say that it's okay because it's "just a sample"...

I swear to god if I see one more k-pop stan go "different producers sample each other all the time" as a means of defending something that it not using a royalty free sample I'm gonna lose it... That's all!
