Philosopher VTuber from beyond the stars and emptiness 📜💫

Axaeon Ch.

This week's schedule has quite a few streams and events I'm really looking forward to. Special note that fellow philosopher VTuber ‪@tiafaire‬ will be there for the streams on the 10th and 14th. Hope to see you all there!

Hard to believe it's already my half-anniversary of being a VTuber. Six months ago today, I had my debut—and it's been a great ride since! I thought I might use this moment to reflect a bit on some of my favorite videos and streams I've taken part in so far. Here they are, in no particular order:

1: Birthday jam 2025 (youtube.com/live/7jsfBN-CedI)

This was my first jam session ever, and I was super nervous, but it ended up being so much fun! If you haven't gotten a chance to check it out yet, the jams start at around 16:45.

2: Social skills stream (youtube.com/live/9CVeRh3oQTY)

This was an educational stream that I greatly enjoyed. By this point, I'd had some practice doing blackboard/lecture-style streams, so I think I was able to handle it all a little more smoothly than some of my previous streams of this style. Using the handcam w/ book, drawing things on the board, handling the slideshow, etc. felt very natural, and chat's energetic commentary made the whole experience feel like a live classroom. Watching everyone's reactions to the videos of the social situations (near the end of the stream) was especially fun. It was also an interesting experience to do an educational stream on something other than philosophy. Hoping to do more streams inspired by this in the future!

3: Encouragement stream (youtube.com/live/pOZnHkRyYo4)

A stream that meant a lot to me—one of those ones I don't imagine I'll ever forget.

4: Halloween stream (youtube.com/live/ZN9Na0472Aw)

First time trying a holiday stream, and it happened to be on the best holiday of them all. Activities included costume changes (including an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction where I turned into a witch/succubus—totally accidentally, I swear!), spooky story readings, and, near the end of the stream, a horrific massacre by the ghost of a crazed chicken. I don't know if I'll find a way to top this one for Halloween this year, but I shall try.

5: Debut (youtube.com/live/a4HsUrpnPMI)

My debut was several months in the making, and yet, it was difficult to predict exactly what it'd feel like. One thing I really wanted was to combine some of the usual debut activites (model reveal, introductory slideshow, etc.) with something genuinely different. I decided to write a short story about some of my lore, pair it with a soundtrack and commissioned illustrations, and then read it on stream, as that was something I'd never seen done before. All in all, the stream went surprisingly smoothly, with no real scuff (at least not that I can remember). And everyone's kind comments helped give me confidence that things were indeed going well. I really wanted to start VTubing with a bang, and, if I do say so myself, I think that this stream succeeded in that.

6: Vlosophy collab (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AL3GT...)

First ever collab of the new philosopher VTuber group, with Charis Euphranor and Tia Faire! This discussion was a great balance between interesting/intellectual topics (like the philosophy of VTubing) and more fun ones (like sharing our impressions of one another). Tia's song near the end was also a highlight!

7: My Immortal collab (youtube.com/live/3PATl1o87gI)

Getting to read arguably the most iconic fanfiction of all time with Charis Euphranor was such a treat. Highlights included Charis's valley girl voice and the ensuing philosophical discussion of how to make sense of "so bad, it's good" art.

8: Debate on hate speech (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1ZuD...)

This debate with Tia Faire covered a great deal of ground and featured an intriguing format proposed by Tia—one wherein we reacted to a prerecorded debate between ourselves, then let the discussion proceed from there.

9: Spooky philosophy stream (youtube.com/live/zeaaovNSUuc)

This was my earliest blackboard/lecture-style stream. Although, as a result, the stream was a bit rougher around the edges than my more recent streams, I found it a very fun time. Getting to explore how philosophy intersects with whatever is currently going on (in the case of that stream, spooky season) is always something I enjoy. Plus, this stream saw my first drawing of the Utility Monster, a character who (owing to some excellent fanart by Tia) has come back to make a splash in some of my later streams in ways I didn't at first expect.

10: The promise and pitfalls of Surrounded (https://youtu.be/qoybnK0YQAU)

Probably my most polished video, at least in terms of editing. The editing on this one took a good deal longer than I anticipated, but I like to think it was worth it in the end. It was certainly a good learning experience, at the very least. I look forward to using the editing lessons I learned from this video in more of my future videos.

-----------

To all who have been here with me on this journey so far, thank you—you've been such a crucial part of the experience. I can't wait for the next six months of being a VTuber and beyond. :')

Upcoming video premiere! Tune in tomorrow (Thursday), 6 pm CT, to catch my newest video essay. The topic: what works—and what doesn't—about "Surrounded," the web series from Jubilee Media that's been taking the online debate world by storm.

I spent way too long editing this one, so I'm naturally excited about the premiere. Hope to see you there! :D
