The Akshaya Patra Foundation is the world largest non-profit orgnaisation providing mid-day meals to over 2.35 million school children in 16 States & 3 Union Territories in India. Akshaya Patra began operating in the year 2000 in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Mission : To feed 6 million children everyday by 2030.

The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a school meal program which is targeted to the children in Government Schools. This program is strategically aimed at increasing the attendance and performance of the children thereby enabling them to complete their basic education. This program supports government schools up to 12th standard. It also supports non-Government schools such as orphanages, blind schools in special case to case basis.
