Stakeholders for today’s session include the Belize Audubon Society, Toledo Institute for Development and Environment, Turneffe Atoll Sustainability Association, Sarteneja Alliance for Conservation and Development, Hol Chan Marine Reserve, Southern Environmental Association, and Friends of Swallow Caye.

Stakeholders include the Belize Audubon Society, Belize Karst Habitat Conservation, Friends for Conservation and Development, Toledo Institute for Development and Environment, and Ya'axche Conservation Trust.

It's time for PACT’s Employee Spotlight! Where we get to show off our amazing staff and you get to know us a little better.

Meet Mr. Ismael Teul, PACT’s Conservation Investment Manager. Mr. Teul started his journey at the Protected Areas Conservation Trust a little over five years ago and has since been making his mark in the world of conservation. He possesses a master's degree in Environmental Science from National Dong Hwa University in Taiwan and a bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Galen University.

Hailing from the Toledo district, Mr. Teul enjoys being in the great outdoors, which includes camping, hiking, and traveling. He also likes video games, dabbling in statistics, and computers. For him, working at PACT has been a wonderful experience in which he has enjoyed all the challenges he has faced in this fast-paced environment.

We could not have asked for a more diligent and confident individual to lead the Conservation Investment Department at PACT. We are pleased to see that he is growing in his career, enhancing his skills, and becoming familiar with the conservation sector.

On Thursday July 6, 2023, the Protected Areas Conservation Trust Launched its $16.5 Million Conservation Investment Strategy for Belize’s Protected Areas System.

The vision of the Conservation Investment Strategy goes beyond the site-level to a landscape and seascape approach to protected areas management to secure the biodiversity and ecosystem integrity of Belize’s Protected Areas System.

The Protected Areas Conservation Trust measures the success of investments through Conservation Return on Investments or CROI which are divided into three categories:
1. Improved Protection and Conservation of Priority Ecosystems and Biodiversity Management
2. Increase in Public & Private Investments in Priority Protected Areas
3. Employment Opportunities through Protected Areas Management and Public/Private Investments

All prizes will be sent out within the week and all winners will be notified. Prizes include a ‘Protected Areas Essentials’ package of PACT branded items including reusable water bottle, drawstring bag, rally towel, and plastic tumbler.
