Whats good everyone! I created this channel to share my experiences as a Zamboni Driver at an ice rink. Although the main focus will be on the ice Resurfacer (Zamboni) operation/maintenance and ice maintenance, we also have two indoor turf fields so I will cover what I do to maintain the fields and that side of the building.
I do realize my knowledge is limited due to the size, location, and how our rink is operated. Which is another reason I created this channel. So others can share how their rink operates so we all can learn and teach each other.

Question: Does your rink provide pucks for rink sponsored activities? Our rink provides pucks for adult leagues and drop in hockey sessions. The collage team and youth teams need to provided their own.
However, seems we are always losing pucks.
Please comment below if you rink provides pucks and your general policies.

Question: Does your rink allow hockey or wall hockey to be played in the lobby, hallways, and locker rooms? This extends to passing or shooting off any walls other than inside the ice rink.
Please comment what policies you have in place and how they are enforced.
Our rink is the last one. Kids blasting balls and pucks all over with the parents watching. A lot of walls and doors marked up. Consession window was just broken last week. Parents are paying for it but should have never happened.

Question: How do you use the pedal when driving the ice resurfacer?
I typically set the transmission lever so the pedal is all the way down when making passes up the middle of the ice. When making turns I just ease off the pedal.
Versus having the transmission lever set more forward and drive it like a car by pressing down the pedal until desire speed is achieved.
I believe having the pedal all the way down allows one to lay water more consistently from lap to lap. Each pass up the ice will be the same. In theory.
