This rare late-1970s photo shows Eddie Boy holding up the colors near Dewey JHS 136, representing a younger division formed when the Brooklyn Saints (led by Dyno RIP) and The Turbans (Sunset Park Division led by Eddie Perez RIP) merged as one.
Sunset Park street history runs deep โ back to the 1950s.

The 1970โs Bronx, New York was a war zone of street gangs โ and the Roman Kings were one of the most feared.
In the documentary Rubble Kings, Yellow Benjy said just looking at the Roman Kings the wrong way could get you shot. Thatโs how serious it was in The Bronx back then.
This photo collage accompanies my previous video breaking down how the Roman Kings & Young Kings disciplined a rule breaker inside the gang. After watching this, go check that video out next.
Salute to Black Pearl, president of the Roman Kings.
If anyone knows what happened to members Boobie, Wilfredo, or Fatman โ drop it in the comments.

Today weโre taking you back to the gritty streets of The Bronx, NY in the 1970s with even more rare footage of the Roman Kings & Young Kings in action.
In this video, we revisit a powerful moment where a Young Kings member known as โBoobieโ is disciplined for breaking the gangโs internal rules. While NYC street gangs were often viewed as lawless, many had strict codes of conduct that every member had to follow. Some even had special โGestapoโ divisions that enforced order within their own ranks.
This footage gives you a rare, unfiltered look into what it was like for a young Bronx gang member who broke the rules โ and the consequences that followed.
Salute to Black Pearl, President of the Roman Kings.
Does anyone know what happened to Boobie, Wilfredo, or Fatman? Are they still alive, or have they passed on? Drop any information respectfully in the comments.

These digitally recreated colors belong to the Death Dealers, a little-known street club from Queens, New York, active in the late 1970s and affiliated with I.C.R.Y. (Inner City Roundtable Of Youth).
Very little is documented about this clubโonly that they were from Queens and recognized under ICRY during a critical era in NYC street history.
If you have real knowledge:
๐ What part of Queens were they from?
๐ How long did the Death Dealers exist?

A rare photo from a couple of years ago featuring a ex member of the legendary Spanish Kings โ one of the most talked-about street gangs to come out of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY. Founded in the 1960s, the orange & white were already making noise by the 1970s, appearing in photography books and newspaper articles across NYC.
When discussing 1970s Williamsburg street gangs, the Spanish Kings must always be mentioned.
Salute to Pichon and all the Spanish Kings who made history.

This rare photo by legendary photographer Clayton Patterson captures members of the Secret Bachelors on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, NYC in the late 1980โsโearly 1990โs.
The Bachelors, founded in The Bronx, New York during the 1960โs, were one of the largest and longest-lasting NYC street gangs, with divisions spread across the city. Led by Supreme President Black Tony Oquendo and his partner Rene Vicenty (RIP to both ๐๏ธ), their legacy proves NYC street gangs did NOT disappear in the 80โs or 90โs.
Main rivals included the Savage Skulls and Savage Nomads.

El Barrio, Manhattan, NYC โ The 1970โs were raw, unfiltered, and unforgettable. ๐ต๐ท๐ฅ
This photo collage captures moments from Spanish Harlem during a time when Puerto Ricans, NY Ricans, Chicanos, and Latinos faced poverty, neglect, gang activity, and struggle โ but still built culture, unity, and pride.
The streets were filled with Classic NY Street Gangsโฆ but also filled with resilience, music, family, and La Raza spirit. Who knows if those in these photos were gang members, ex-members, or just everyday people surviving tough times โ but one thing is certainโฆ NYC was different.
Salute to our Puerto Rican & Chicano brothers.

In todayโs video we switch it up and bring you RARE footage of the Puerto Rican perspective in 1970โs NYC ๐ต๐ท๐ฅ
This powerful look into El Barrio, Manhattan, New York captures what life was like for Puerto Ricans / NY Ricans during the 1970โs where jobs werenโt paying as much & the cost of living was still high and they made due with what they had.
Now I donโt know if the individuals speaking in this footage were gang members or ex-gang members โ but what we DO know is that El Barrio in the 1970โs was heavily impacted by classic NY street gangs.
This footage is an important piece of Puerto Rican history in NYC, and it also salutes our Chicano brothers who are mentioned in this video.
This is history. This is culture. This is the voice of the streets.
