Becoming A CEO

Selam’s journey is rooted in something deeply personal: the understanding that migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers often carry stories that go unheard in public and policy spaces. Rather than simply observing the gaps, she chose to step into them.

As a speaker, cultural curator, and executive member, Selam has committed herself to amplifying underrepresented African voices — ensuring that conversations about community are not held without the communities themselves at the table.

What stood out to us during this conversation wasn’t just her titles — it was her conviction. The belief that cultural identity is not a barrier to leadership, but a powerful asset. The courage to advocate in rooms where representation is still catching up. And the responsibility she carries in building bridges across diverse communities in Western Australia.

This episode is more than a profile. It is a conversation about belonging, visibility, and influence.

If you care about leadership, representation, multicultural engagement, and policy that reflects lived experience — this is one conversation you don’t want to miss.

🎙️ The episode goes live soon by 5pm.

Host: Emmanuel ONYEGBULA
Guest: Selam Tegegn (CRN)

Becoming A CEO

The concept of entrepreneurship has always amazed me.

As a young kid on the streets of Lagos, I often wondered how money was made - Why some people had so much of it while others had little to nothing - Why large sums of money seemed concentrated in the hands of a few, and why we were never taught how to make money or build successful businesses from primary or even high school.

Here’s the truth—I still don’t have all the answers. Just like I don’t have the answer to the age-old question: “Are entrepreneurs born or made?”

That’s exactly why I’m setting out to speak with every CEO I can reach. To uncover the truths, the struggles, and the stories that shape what it really takes to build something that matters.

This is the mission behind the “Becoming A CEO” Podcast.
