đ° Tonight: The Ultimate Medieval Escape!
Get strapped in, because at 7:00 PM BST, weâre heading to Belgium for a massive, hour-long cinematic journey! We are exploring Bruges, widely considered the best-preserved medieval city in all of Europe.
Whatâs on the Itinerary?
Weâre kicking things off with a whirlwind tour of Brusselsâvisiting the iconic Cathedral, the (in)famous Manneken Pis, and the breathtaking Grand Placeâbefore hopping on the train to our leading destination.
đ°ď¸ A City Frozen in Time
Bruges was once the commercial capital of Northern Europe, and thanks to a quirk of history, its medieval heart remained untouched while the rest of the world modernised. It is a literal time capsule, and we'll walk you through as much of it as we can in just over 24 hours!
We conquered all 366 steps of the Belfry for a view that will leave you speechless. And listen to the Carillon chime out across the city.
Canals, quiet corners, hidden gems and world-famous sculptures, Bruges has it all!
Oh, and as we spent a night in the city, we had time to take a magical golden glow walk around the almost deserted city in the dark. It was simply amazing.
đĽ We Need Your Energy!
This is one of our most ambitious videos yet, and we canât wait to share it with you.
Please hit the HYPE button so we can introduce our channel to new audience members who'll enjoy our travels as much as you do!

Tucked away in the village of Downe lies a hidden living laboratory: Down House.
This was the home of Charles Darwin and the very garden where he proved the most controversial theory in the history of scienceâevolution.
We visited this beautiful English Heritage site last spring, and though itâs taken a while to reach the editing table, weâre excited to finally share it. While photography and filming are prohibited inside the house, the true magic happens outdoors. Youâll join us for a tour of the gardens where Darwin conducted his famous experiments and follow his footsteps along the "Sandwalk," his iconic thinking path.
Itâs a short but sweet look at the grounds where scientific history was made. We hope you enjoy it! Available now to watch.

Weâve travelled thousands of miles, but we always end up back here with you... đ
Well, weâve officially reached that point of the year where the only thing more crowded than a Cornish beach in July is our "Christmas STILL-To-Do" list.
As 2025 winds down, we wanted to take a breather and say a massive thank you for coming along on our adventures this year.
Looking back, itâs been a bit of a whirlwind.
We travelled to the furthest point south in the world, before you need a ship to sail you to Antarctica! Survived the winding lanes and narrow roads in our Cornwall series and fell in love with the coastal magic and chocolate box cottages on the Isle of Wight. Immersed ourselves in the Isle of Bute and all things Victorian! And shared many more magical locations this year, for your entertainment and to help you plan and visit the UK. We spent far too much time researching historic places and stories to bring you videos like Chichester and Steyning, but it's all been such fun!
Whether youâve just joined us or youâve been here since the beginning, your support keeps the wheels turning. To those who hit 'Play,' leave a comment, send a Super Thanks, buy us a coffee, or support us via Patreonâyou are the reason we get to keep exploring. Youâre the metaphorical petrol in our tank (and the literal caffeine in our mugs). We can't thank you enough!
We do our best to keep up with comments and please know we always read them, even if you don't get a reply. It does get harder each year to respond to all of them.
One Final Gift... đ We aren't quite finished with 2025 yet! We have one more video dropping just before the New Year. Weâre keeping the location a secret for now, but here is a hint: It's an incredible medieval city with 2000 years of history to explore and just the quaintest shopping streets in ******** part of the country! It cannot be York, as we've done it, but ponder where it could be! There are still lots of Medieval cities we have not covered.
Thank you all so much, Will and I wish you the very best festive season, however you celebrate (if at all). We also take a moment to think of those less fortunate who will not have the Christmas most of us will enjoy.
Keep well, keep watching and see you in another video very soon.
All the best, Simon & Will

Following my visit to Fairfax House last week, I spent the night in York, which allowed me to experience the city's festive vibe.
Join me for a truly magical evening stroll through the historic streets of York. Even on a wet and rainy night, the festive spirit is alive and well in this ancient city, proving that a bit of weather can't dampen the holiday cheer. Watch how the wet cobblestones reflect the twinkling Christmas lights, making York look even more enchanting and cinematic than usual.
I stay at the Bar Convent, the UK's oldest living convent! It certainly has a fascinating secret story!
Join me at 7pm GMT on 12th December for a winter stroll.

Step inside one of England's most magnificent Georgian townhouses as we witness the extraordinary transformation of Fairfax House, now exquisitely decorated for Christmas and overrun by hundreds of tiny, mischievous, costumed guests!
Youâre cordially invited to A Christmas Mousequerade, a stunning celebration that plunges you directly into the high-society world of 18th-century festive entertainment. Every room, from the grand Dining Room with its elaborate Twelfth Cake to the glamorous Saloon, has been gorgeously decorated for Christmas with Georgian period detail and delightful mouse-sized drama. If youâre looking for a truly unique and historically rich Christmas experience, this is it!
This year, the Viscount and his daughter, Anne Fairfax, are preparing for the ultimate Christmas Ball. But the town mice are determined not to miss out on the party! You'll find over 400 of our little furry friends, dressed in hand-stitched, miniature Georgian finery, re-enacting the eraâs greatest pastimes: from the high-stakes thrills of a gambling den and the raw energy of a Georgian boxing ring, to a spectacular theatrical performance of Twelfth Night and a grand ball. The incredible attention to detail in how the house has been decorated for Christmas with these tiny scenes is genuinely heartwarming.
Sorry, this post is after the video went live (just a few minutes ago!)!
I had the opportunity to visit York and have exclusive access to the House, thanks to the York Civic Trust. (sadly, Will could not make it due to work commitments)
I only filmed this on Friday morning, so we've stayed up late and turned this Christmas treat around in just 2 days!
Enjoy the Georgian Fun!

This weekend, we're taking you on an incredible journey through the Rural Life Living Museum in Tilford, Surrey. It beautifully preserves the character and essence of rural life from 1750 to 1960, showcasing how communities thrived, worked, and played. This is a genuine, hands-on experience of past daily routines and traditions.
The museum is an absolute historical treasure, established with the crucial mission of preserving buildings and artefacts that define the region's vanishing heritage. Itâs an authentic historic villageâa collection of over 30 meticulously relocated historic buildings and structures, each saved, dismantled, and re-erected brick by brick on this beautiful site.
The historical significance lies in its focus on the ordinary people and the everyday items that shaped their existence. Youâll walk into a late Victorian schoolroom, see a shepherd's hut, wander through a prefab house, and inspect a cricket pavilion - all authentic buildings serving as powerful physical reminders of the past.
The museum tells the essential story of the farmers, the craftspeople, and the families who were the true backbone of the nation, providing an unparalleled insight into the transition from a purely agrarian society to the mechanised world of the mid-20th century.
The Rural Life Living Museum is where you can connect with your past, appreciate the resilience of previous generations, and gain a profound understanding of the forces that shaped modern Britain.

Bonus video this weekend!
Ready for a dazzling festive experience? Join us for a night walk as we chase the glow of the magnificent London Christmas Lights!
This is a NON-narrated video, replaced with beautifully curated music that you can listen to again and again as you wrap those Christmas gifts or bake something delicious over the holiday season! đđ
Our atmospheric adventure starts in the heart of the City at the historic and enchanting Leadenhall Market. This beautifully preserved Victorian covered market, with its ornate ironwork, feels like stepping back in timeâa truly magical place once used in the Harry Potter films. Its festive lights offer a warm, intimate start to our tour.
We then journey to the theatrical core of London. Leicester Square hosts a traditional, charming Christmas market, perfect for a cosy break with mulled wine. Right next door, Covent Garden is pure festive theatre, complete with a giant Christmas tree and a canopy of twinkling mistletoe and bells.
Next, we head west to Notting Hill Gate for a view of one of Londonâs most famous and extravagantly decorated pubs: The Churchill Arms. Adorned floor-to-ceiling with countless trees and lights, it's a quintessential, festive pit stop.
Finally, we arrive at the spectacular West End. We'll explore Oxford St, one of the city's main corridors of light, followed by the breathtaking arches of Regent St, famed for its "Spirit of Christmas" angels. Prepare to be mesmerised by the themed holiday windows at Selfridges, a genuine feast for the eyes, featuring stunning Disney-inspired scenes! This stretch of the West End is the beating heart of the London Christmas Lights display.
If you cannot visit London for the lights this year, then we have it covered!
Have a wonderful weekend and join us at 2pm GMT Tomorrow, Saturday 22nd Nov

You might think you know historic houses, but trust us, you've never seen anything quite like Mount Stuart.
Our video takes you inside the extraordinary former home of the Marquesses of Bute, which is now one of the most significant and lavishly decorated houses in the British Isles. This house is a testament to the visionaryâand slightly eccentricâThird Marquess of Bute, John Crichton-Stuart. He poured his passion for astrology, botany, and medieval history into creating this symbolic structure.
The story begins with a fire in 1877....... We'll tell you the rest as we walk around!
The magnificent 80-foot Marble Hall dome is painted with constellations, reflecting the Marquess's deep interest in the cosmos.
The Marble Chapel is entirely clad in white, pink, and grey marble. This stunning space features a floor mosaic representing the constellations. It is one of the most beautiful private chapels ever constructed.
Every room is filled with symbolic detail, providing a fascinating insight into the mind of its visionary creator.
Join us this evening at 7pm GMT, 19th November, for another fascinating tour!
P.S. Please click the new HYPE button and the like button while watching the video. It will help us reach a new audience that hasn't watched our channel! It's a great way to show support for our channel, and it's free! Thank you :)
