We are Iain and Brioni, a couple from Scotland who have decided to sell everything, buy a boat and go where the wind takes us.
We are the proud winners of the award for Best Emerging YouTube Channel 2023 and we share weekly episodes of our sailing travels around the world every Sunday. Living on a budget means we get creative about making our own repairs and we aim to explore the most remote parts of this beautiful world we call our home.
We’re adventurous, tenacious and always up for a laugh. You can read more about us on our website www.red-seas.com and subscribe to our channel to follow the adventure.
If you are inspired by any of the things we have shared, please consider joining our Patreon to allow us to keep saying yes to opportunities as they present themselves.

There’s no episode today as we are taking a break from video editing this week while Brioni recovers, but instead you can join us for a live chat (4pm EST) to hear our updates on our refit plans and what’s going on behind the scenes.

We’re taking a week off this week as Brioni is still recovering from her recent M.E relapse and we haven’t been able to edit a new video for you. 😢 But we’ll hopefully be back with you next Sunday with the first stage of our refit - there are so many boat projects on this list! 🛠️
If you missed last week’s episode when we explained what’s going on, you can catch up here:

What did you think of this week’s episode? The weather is starting to change from the beautiful calm sunny days of the tropics into the squally and stormy seas as we head south to New Zealand. Things are starting to break on our boat and we’re just hoping that we all make it there safely and in one piece!

Happy New Year to you all! We have had an incredible 2025 with plenty of adventures throughout the South Pacific but we’ve ended it with the flu and we’re very much in need of a break to look after ourselves.
So there won’t be an episode this week I’m afraid, but we’ll be back on your screens next week with the next part of our adventure as we sail from Minerva Reef to New Zealand. See you soon! ⛵️

NEW VIDEO: Is it possible for two people to sail a 47’ catamaran across an ocean?
We’ve learned from plenty of mistakes over the last 5 years of shorthanded offshore sailing so in this video we’re sharing all our best tips for sailing with a skeleton crew when you’re crossing oceans.
Join us as we sail from Niue to Western Samoa in the South Pacific Ocean. ⛵️

New episode JUST DROPPED!
After 5 years of sailing, we just found a country that DOESN’T EXIST! We’re sailing through remote islands in the South Pacific and stumbled across Niue, which claims to be a country in its own right but most nations around the world don’t even view it as a real place.
So we HAD to go and explore! Enjoy!

NEW EPISODE OUT NOW!
After almost three weeks battling our way across the Pacific Ocean, we finally find land and celebrate our arrival into a new country. But it isn’t as straightforward as it sounds.

If TWO videos weren’t enough for you this week, here’s a THIRD!
While we were hiding out from a huge storm in Beveridge Reef in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, we took the opportunity to dive the pass and spend some time underwater with the most curious sharks we have ever seen.
It was as if none of the sea life had ever seen humans before (and being as far away from the rest of the world as we were, that’s entirely possible!) so although it was a little scary, we loved the fact that we got to explore this reef before the weather kicked us again.
If you didn’t see this shark dive yet, you can catch up right here: https://youtu.be/UAD4C13gxII?si=HPdk0...

Did you spot our EXTRA videos this week? We couldn’t fit all our adventures into one episode but we wanted to share all the things we got up to in Beveridge Reef so if you enjoyed our chaotic sail to reach this wildly remote spot, you can now watch us take on a dangerous boat job before we leave.
Without any protection from the wind and swell, we needed to replace our chafed main halyard. At sunset (when the light was fading but the tide was at its lowest) I lifted Iain up to the very top of the mast where he DISCONNECTED his safety line and we ran a new one before testing it out by putting all his body weight on it and using it to descend back down to deck level again.
Our hearts were racing but thankfully I didn’t drop him! If you want to see how we got it done, this extra video is available right now:
