The Albertan Mammoth Fan

A Mammoth fan from Alberta who gets the chance to live out his dream. I'm draggin' y'all along with me!

I've needed to make a proper update for a while now. I am extremely sorry for how long it's been, but I've finally got something planned out that I can actually achieve, and I believe it'll be more fun than having another Dangle floating around.

Apologies for the essay.

Hey y'all. It's been a while. I made a post on my channel a while ago saying I'd do weekly updates on the Mammoth, and that didn't end up happening. I took a totally unplanned hiatus that went unexplained for a while.

I'm looking into some things, considering my schedule, the things I've taken on, especially having an opportunity placed in front of me that was absolutely unplanned that has the chance to take me on a journey I've always wanted to be on. Broadcasting is a lot. Broadcasting while also working a separate job is almost too much (and I'm extremely grateful that my workplace has supported my endeavors and made accommodations to help me continue this path.) Broadcasting, while working, while also covering an NHL team that often plays the same time the Dragons play is nigh impossible to do authentically enough for me to be happy with the product I put out.

I'm still new enough that I believe I can safely make a huge transition. No longer will I be a Steve Dangle copycat, but that doesn't mean the channel will end. I want to turn it into a glimpse into what broadcasting is like for me. I guess essentially I want to bring you along with my on my journey in broadcast, wherever the road takes me. There will be vlogs, for sure. Probably some game recaps as well, only this time for a team that's certainly closer to home. I'll also be working to include some team oriented content of sorts. That may be interviews, some showcases, different things that will be fun to shoot as much as I'll hope they'll be fun to watch, etc. There's so much that I want to do.

I'll still find time to talk Mammoth, NHL as a whole, things like that, but it won't be the same content that you've been used to. Same quality for a while until I get both better equipment and more experience lol.

I do hope y'all stick around. You might find some love in a Canadian team, the way I found love in an American one.

Okay, here's the situation I'm facing.

I'm not actually sure if I brought this up when I started this season, but just in case I forgot to, I'll mention it here. (I've also kinda just up and disappeared for a bit, which isn't fair either.)

With everything that has come up both with work and medical, I have taken the past few weeks to get everything sorted out. The medical side of things has slowed down enough that I feel things are opening up a bit schedule wise. Work on the other hand, combining my paying job with the color commentary on the side for the Dragons of the AJHL, has kept me sidelined from watching Mammoth games, let alone covering them. That said, until things straighten out on that front, I'm gonna take a page out of Hockey Psychology's book and do a weekly recap starting this upcoming Saturday. That format will go on until after Christmas, with an exception on the 6th of December.

There has been massive growth in this hiatus on a personal level, both mentally and physically, and I'm excited to get back into watching the NHL, and covering this team.

They. Beat. The. Jets.

How much longer can this go on for???

2nd half of a back to back against a hard team for them to face, factually and historically, and they win!

Streak continues! They play Edmonton Tuesday (which coincides with a dragons game, so if there's a loss, I'll be extreeeemely busy that day.)

The streak continues! Mammoth win over the Wild in a dominating 6-2 victory! The length of my next video continues to grow!

(I might have to put a cap on it before it gets too long, though they do play the Jets while on the second half of a back to back tomorrow, so we'll see what happens.)

Ik I haven't come out with a video for the past 3 games, but I have a damn good reason this time.

I will be coming out with one super-long video as soon as the winning streak ends! It'll be worth the wait (because I get prep time this way!)

New season's around the corner, and that means I'm gonna come out of the shadows in a short while here.

New video walking through what the new season is going to look like on this channel will likely go up tomorrow.

I'm excited to be bringing you the Steve Dangle-ified fan reaction to your Utah Mammoth! Bad takes and all!!! 😁

Okay, I know it's been a bit. Lotta college, lotta self reflection, lotta learning. One of the big things I learned is that I made a MASSIVE mistake in switching teams, and the Utah Mammoth community on twitter has gotten me to see the light.

That said, if I went back to the Mammoth, would you approve of that decision?

Flare up.

Bad one.

College wouldn't take me from the games, but not being able to get out of bed definitely has done that job.

I'm so sorry.

Missed a couple of videos because of course finals.

I'm rather upset by it, but at the same time, got 4 100% marks and an 80%

I've got more free time now though, so I'll be back with the hockey stuff tomorrow.

Of course the Oilers do well in the days I take off...

Hey y'all

I'm sorta going through the motions. I tried making a video, I've got the 20 takes to prove it lol, but I just can't today.

It took a year, but the Coyotes' relocation has finally hit me. I've learned in the past couple of weeks that the community is what I miss. The Coyotes fans that embraced me when I started cheering for the team. Those same fans, who supported me in some of my lowest of lows, as I helped support some of them. The fanbase was extremely tight-knit. It's a heavy loss to not have that anymore. Not like it used to be anyway.

I'll be off until the next Oilers game. In brighter news, I've finally figured out an outro slogan that works for me lol.
