Big Harp’s first record in 11 years, Runs to Blue, is out March 27th!!

This record is a warm, deep hug. It’s full of songs of wanderlust and loss, love for your children and love for your lover, accepting one’s increasing age while also lamenting that we can never be what we once were.

“I Got an Itch” is out now. Pre-order Runs to Blue here bigharp.scfm.me/runstoblue

Saddle Creek

Presenting our 2025 Release Round Up! We are so proud of our artists and their releases this year. We’ve had the privilege of working with these folks from the very beginnings of these projects, and watching them work with such purpose and thoughtfulness has been incredibly inspiring.

Offering a little challenge this new year: pick out a a record from this graphic, or another release from this year that you’ve been meaning to listen to, and take a listen. Uninterrupted and maybe even reading through the lyrics! Better yet, purchase a record or CD from us or your local record store and pour over the packaging while listening. Truly engaging with a record is one of the most rewarding experiences as a music fan, one that we don’t indulge in nearly enough.

Happy new year to you all ❤️ excited to share lots of new music with you in 2026!

Saddle Creek Release Round Up 2025:

Big Harp - “Boys Don’t Cry”
Release date: December 17, 2025

“The original is perfect as it is, but it’s such a solid song that it can work in a lot of contexts. And like any really well put-together piece, it doesn’t need a lot of decoration. We’ve been playing exclusively as a true two-piece these days, without overdubs or additional musicians, because there’s so much space for lyrics and melodies to breathe that way.” - Stefanie Drootin-Senseney (Big Harp)

Saddle Creek Release Round Up 2025:

Neva Dinova - “Alone”
Release date: October 29, 2025

"Songs can come from a lot of places, but this one came from nowhere, emptiness. In a change of pace we had the privilege to record three songs with local legend and dear friend Vic Padios at his elegant home studio. This is one of those recordings. We love how they turned out." - Jake Bellows (Neva Dina)

Saddle Creek Release Round Up 2025:

Algernon Cadwallader - Trying Not to Have a Thought
Release date: September 12th, 2025

“Trying Not to Have a Thought doesn’t pick up where Algernon left off on 2011’s underappreciated Parrot Flies. It imagines an alternate history where all of the members channeled their artistic evolution from their many, many projects right back into Algernon Cadwallader, as if that had been the plan all along.” - Pitchfork

Saddle Creek Release Round Up 2025:

Dean Johnson - I Hope We Can Still Be Friends
Release date: August 22nd, 2025

“On his Saddle Creek Records debut, it feels as though Seattle’s Dean Johnson is opening a long-lost time capsule. With his compelling yodel, melodic guitars, timeless song structures, and earnest lyricism, I Hope We Can Still Be Friends positions Johnson as a gentle giant in the contemporary alt-country landscape.” - KEXP

Dean Johnson - Blue Moon b/w Lake Charles
Release date: April 11th, 2025

"A wrinkle of ornery pedal steel weeps beneath Johnson’s chugging acoustic guitar. “Blue Moon” is a doo-wop track colored by the chords of a gentle cowboy’s aching six-string and memories of an anxious joy and young, wayfaring love." - Paste
