Consumer Attorneys

Mistakes in your consumer report don’t care about your résumé, your plans, or your future. They sneak in, they spread, they wreck opportunities.

Most people see an error and assume it’s unchangeable, like the system is too big, too rigid, too impossible to push back against. They think, “It is what it is.”

That’s exactly how the system keeps winning.

Not here.

Error Fight Club means learning the rules. We fight with weaponized law, not fists. We clear your name and make them pay.

If your report is fighting you… welcome.
You just stepped into the only fight worth winning.

When talking nicely doesn’t work, the law gives you leverage.
If the case succeeds, the law requires the reporting agency to cover your legal fees and damages.

The Fair Credit Reporting Act exists for one simple reason:
to stop consumer reporting agencies and furnishers from harming people through careless, inaccurate, or unlawful reporting.

Most violations arise under:
15 U.S.C. §1681e(b) — requiring consumer reporting agencies to follow reasonable procedures to ensure maximum possible accuracy
15 U.S.C. §1681i — requiring prompt and meaningful reinvestigation when consumers dispute errors

In many cases, responsibility also falls on data furnishers under:
15 U.S.C. §1681s-2(b) — for failing to properly investigate and correct disputed information
15 U.S.C. §1681b(b) — when background checks are used for employment purposes without proper compliance

When these duties are ignored, the harm is real: lost jobs, lost income, and damaged reputations. Holding companies accountable isn’t aggressive - it’s exactly what the law is designed to do.

If you’re worried about retaliation for asserting your rights, the FCRA addresses that concern as well. The law prohibits punishing consumers for disputing inaccurate information or exercising their legal protections.

Stay with us to learn more about your rights—because understanding them is the first step toward protecting yourself.

Not legal advice. Results vary.

Nearly 1 in 10 Checkr complaints* mention sealed or expunged records being re-reported, a serious privacy and accuracy violation.

If that happens to you, contact a consumer law firm.

We confirm the expungement, dispute the illegal disclosure, and seek to permanently remove the record and recover damages for the harm.

The daring vision of justice and equality must become contagious, spreading to every corner of the world, lived out in our laws, our communities, and our everyday choices.
Today, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A man of words. A man of action. A man of justice.
May we all be blessed more often with voices as bold, as just, and as unshakable.

When a background check gets it wrong, the damage doesn’t stop at a simple “denied.” It follows you to your bank account, your plans, your sense of stability. It’s rent that goes unpaid. Groceries put back on the shelf. A car repair you can’t afford to delay. And the constant humiliation of explaining a mistake that isn’t yours. We see what inaccurate reports really cost, because this is what we fight against every day. If this happened to you, you don’t have to carry it alone. Reach out to Consumer Attorneys.
