Bernardo Gama: A Football Journey Across Continents

Meet Bernardo Gama, one of FTBLRLIFE's earliest community members whose journey spans from Belgium to Brazil. This talented young player's story showcases how our global football community connects and supports players worldwide.

After moving to Belgium with his father in 2016, Bernardo progressed from futsal to joining Belgian first division side OHL's youth setup. Returning to Brazil in 2022, he now trains with Coritiba FC's U15 team despite facing a significant challenge - a delayed growth development that gives him the physical stature of a much younger player.

Drawing strength from his Christian faith and family support, Bernardo continues to impress with his technical ability. When he needed guidance regarding potential agents, our team helped vet candidates through our global network - demonstrating how a football-focused community creates meaningful connections that wouldn't happen on general social media.

Bernardo's technical challenge videos, created with his father Francisco, have become community favorites. His Goal of the Month award early in our platform's history provided motivation that, according to his father, significantly boosted his development.

This is why we built FTBLRLIFE - to connect football people across borders and create opportunities that wouldn't otherwise exist.

Igerera Soccer Academy in remote eastern Uganda has become the most-viewed profile in the FTBLRLIFE community despite limited local internet access. Founded in 2013 by John Mugabula, the academy serves 75 underprivileged children, emphasizing both football development and education. Their participation in a focused football community has driven 67% growth in just one year, with families from neighboring villages seeking opportunities for their children. This success story demonstrates how digital connectivity can reduce barriers in football, creating meaningful connections that transform lives in even the most isolated locations.

Organizing Grassroots Football: The Foundation for Change

In our latest blog post, we explore why organizing grassroots football must come before equipment, visibility before sponsorship, and community before resources.

While 90% of active players participate at the grassroots level, this segment remains fragmented and overlooked.

Our three-step approach addresses this challenge:

1️⃣ ORGANIZATION: Bringing players, coaches and academies into one focused community
2️⃣ VISIBILITY: Showcasing talent and programs to a global audience
3️⃣ SUPPORT: Creating sustainable resources and development pathways

This is why we built the FTBLRLIFE community platform and why we're launching this channel - to tell the stories that matter in grassroots football and create real change.
