Playing the harmonica since childhood, not following any particular style!
I only respond to good music by trying it out on my harmonica in a free style like a common man who attempts to sing a song or whistle a tune that he had listened to!
This is what they call as "Playing by the ear!"
Here in this channel, I am playing all the music that I like, as I had perceived it, rather than strictly replicating the original!
For me, playing the harmonica is a way to celebrate music and life!

A special note (post) on the Security Band Orchestra of BHEL
(Bharat Heavy Electricals, Limited)Tiruchirappalli, that was one of the sources of inspiration for the music in me!
The band was led by the Band Master Smith,an Anglo-Indian, retired officer from the Indian Navy!
The special feature of this band was that they played music for all the formal functions in the factory and the Kailasapuram Township!
All the schools in the township made use of their live music for sports day celebrations.
The events like the march past and the drills were supported by their smart Brass Band. The pegantary dances were supported by film music played by them.
The Indian Independence Day and Republic Day were celebrated with full support from this band in the outdoor sports stadium in the township.
They were invited by the employees for their family functions for entertaining the guests.
Here they played film songs, the latest hits.
This was the time the songs of music composer Ilayaraja's songs were played everywhere.
This band adapted film music very well to their instruments and played all the songs so wonderful.
There were ardent fans for this band, and as a school boy at that time, I enjoyed all the songs played by them. I watched with awe the way they handled the variety of wind instruments.
Clarinets, saxophones,trumpets, drums... a big list of instruments with wonderful players around twenty or more...
During grand ceremonies, it was a visual treat to watch them playing and marching with the lead man throwing and catching the long staff in style and perfection. Another important feature of their band march was that a huge ram🐏 decorated in bright orange cloth led in front of them keeping the right steps to their drumbeat!
I once again want to keep on record that it was the band that inspired my harmonica playing(though still I have not learnt music), and I badly miss those golden days with the wonderful musicians!
