Keya Hatkar is a 15-year-old author, disability inclusion advocate, and changemaker from Mumbai, India, and the recipient of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2024. Born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a rare, progressive genetic disorder, Keya has consistently demonstrated that disability does not define one’s potential. She is a TEDx speaker, Top 30 Global Disability Inclusion Advocate, artist, coder, podcaster, and the bestselling author of three books, Dancing on My Wheels, I M POSSIBLE!, and How to Write a Book.
Keya is the founder of I M POSSIBLE & SMAART, a non-profit advocating inclusion and awareness for rare disease warriors, and SMAARTR, a purpose-driven retail venture that transforms art created by artists living with rare diseases into meaningful products, with all profits redirected to support artists’ families.
Through storytelling, art, technology, and advocacy, Keya inspires a more inclusive world rooted in empathy, dignity, and possibility.
