Konpa se pa jis dans.
Se lakay. šŸ‡šŸ‡¹ā¤ļø

The music hits and your body already knows what to do.

Core & Culture: Konpa Basics Pt. 1 is a space for us to reconnect with that feeling — the rhythm, the culture, the pride.

Whether you're Haitian or not this class is for you.

We don’t just teach steps — we teach:• where the movement comes from• how the music guides the body• how to move with intention, not rush
This is cultural preservation + technique in one room.

I’m officially a nonprofit owner. šŸ„¹šŸ‡šŸ‡¹āœØ
Introducing LakayRo Inc. — @lakayroinc

And this one feels different… because this is really for us.

Before YouTube.
Before music.
Before anything.

Dance was my first language.

I grew up training in spaces where I was the only Black girl in the room, feeling out of place, unseen, and disconnected from myself. Then my parents put me in an Afro/Haitian dance troupe… and chile 😭 I fought them about it heavy.

Whole time… that’s what was saving me.

That’s where I learned pride.
That’s where I learned rhythm that felt like home.
That’s where I stopped shrinking.

Haitian dance didn’t just teach me steps — it taught me identity.

As I got older, I realized something:
So many of us love dance but lose access.

It becomes ā€œjust a hobby.ā€
Too expensive.
Too exclusive.
Or you ā€œage out.ā€

And I hated that.

Because culture isn’t a phase.
It’s who we are.

So I built what I wish existed growing up.

LakayRo.

Lakay = Home
Ro = Romelus

A home for dancers rooted in culture.
A place where Haitian and cultural dance is taken seriously.
A space for youth AND adults to train, grow, and feel seen.

We’re starting with:

THIRTY WON. šŸ¤ŽāœØ | 1/5 ā™‘ļø

Today I turn 31… and honestly, growing up I never really saw myself getting here. Too many people around me left this world young, so being alive, grounded, and present today feels like a quiet miracle.

I give thanks to God and my ancestors — mĆØsi Bondye, mĆØsi zansĆØt yo — because the journey hasn’t been easy, but I’m still standing.

I run multiple YouTube channels, but what matters more than any number is this community. We’re not just subscribers — nou se fanmi. The conversations, the shared stories, the way we grow together in real time… it means everything. Krik? Krak. MĆØsi paske n ap mache ak mwen.

This past season, I found my way back to dance and music — my first loves. I became a Zumba instructor and stepped fully into teaching and coaching again, letting my body move, heal, and speak.

I’ve faced my mental health head-on, rebuilt myself, and I’ve been off medication for over a year now — learning what balance really looks like for me.

My loc journey brought me closer to self-love and acceptance, and I’m in a long-term, healthy relationship that feels safe, supportive, and real — something I don’t take lightly.

31 feels like softness and strength.
I didn’t think I’d get here… but I did.

Thank you for being part of my journey and my story. MĆØsi anpil. šŸ¤Ž

Happy Haitian Flag Day ā¤ļøšŸ‡šŸ‡¹ & Happy New Year šŸŽ†

Today we honor more than a flag — we honor unity, resistance, and a people who turned pain into power. The red and blue remind me of where I come from, the sacrifices made, and the responsibility we carry to protect our culture, our language, and each other.

As we step into a new year, I’m choosing pride, purpose, and community. May we continue to pour into our people, speak life over Haiti, and move with intention wherever we land.

For the culture. For the ancestors. For the future.
Always Ayisyen. Always love.
