Bonny lives in Sydney, was born in Sri Lanka & spent part of his life in Germany. He is renowned vocalist well known to the world for his versatility to sing & entertain equally alike in English & Sinhala.Bonny hails from Kurunegala .
An old boy of St.Anne’s College & St. Benedict’s Colombo, His talents were discovered originally in Sri Lanka in then highly popular radio programs such as “Stars of Lanka “ “Talents in Focus “ when he was a schoolboy.
Free lancer Bonny became the lead singer at the newly formed music group from Kurunegala. “The Freedom “ The Freedom was initiated by the late eminent musician Clarence Wijewardane . The popularity Bonny earned at the time as a vocalist in both English & Sinhala music brought him an invitation from Upendra Fernando & late Stanley Pieris to produce an EP under the Gemtone Label with lyrics of the late Premakeerthi de Alwis.
He was by the time becoming more regarded to sing late H.R. Jothipala by popular request of his wide fan base.
