That Tony Robbins firewalk was fire
People often think firewalking is about fearlessness.
Quite the contrary.
I must admit that I was so prepared for this walk months before the walk.
That evening, I realised that the walk was more about regulation.
That one does not cross fire by hyping oneself up or forcing belief.
It crossed it by being present in your body, calm in your breath, and decisive in your mind.
That night taught me something that still shapes how I operate to date:
The nervous system decides what you think is possible.
Not motivation.
Not willpower.
When the body feels safe, the mind follows.
And when the mind follows, action becomes clean, focused, and intentional.
This is the work behind sustainable leadership.
The work behind aligned ambition.
The work behind walking into a new year without dragging old fear with you.
Fire doesn’t change you.
Presence does.
This is why self-leadership through the body, breath, and energy is not just a mindset. It is alignment.

I just came across this picture from a few years ago, meeting Gary Vee, when they first opened the London office.
At the time, I was hungry to learn how to build, how to self-lead, to play the long game without losing myself in the process.
I used to watch the same 1-2 videos every morning as I got ready for my day. I wanted to understand where he gets his drive, passion for people and strategy for staying focused
I ended up learning patience, self-awareness, and putting in the work without attachment to applause.
During that time, I was also consuming content from two other industry leaders.
From Tony Robbins, I learned the power of state, energy, and identity.
From James Altucher, I learned curiosity, reinvention, and starting again, without shame. Something many of us are afraid of doing.
But here’s what time taught me:
Strategy works best when the body is regulated.
Growth is sustainable when the energy is aligned.
Leadership lasts when it starts with self-leadership.
Now this, I spent years integrating, bringing together ambition and alignment, intuition and execution, vision and nervous system safety.
As we approach the new year, I am not interested in louder goals or harder hustle.
I am interested in self-leaders, staying grounded, intentional, and deeply connected to who we rely are.
That’s why I created The Aligned Leader 2026.
