The dawn of 2026 was welcomed in Amritapuri with prayers that honoured the eternal flow of time. On New Year’s Eve, devotees gathered in Amma’s presence, offering gratitude for their lives, guided by her light and compassion.
Addressing the gathering, Amma spoke on the true spirit of welcoming a new year, reminding everyone that celebration should be cultured and dignified, supported by awareness, self-reflection, and inner transformation. She shared that while time moves forward, meaningful change within us requires determination and conscious effort. Our actions today, she said, are shaping the tomorrows we will live.
The evening was enriched by vibrant cultural performances offered by Ashramites and Ashram children. With a gentle smile, Amma watched the offerings and then guided everyone into meditation and prayers for world peace, followed by soulful bhajans that united hearts in devotion beyond the bounds of time.
As tradition holds, Amma concluded the night by lovingly distributing prasad to thousands. This year, sweet payasam was served, its warmth and sweetness filling both hearts and homes as the New Year began.
Amma and her children from across the world came together at #Amritapuri to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. It was a truly beautiful #Christmas united with interfaith performances, devotional singing, and Amma’s uplifting message.
She shared how mahātmās like Jesus arrive in our world to spread love and light among the ordinary people. Śrī Rāma, Śrī Kṛṣṇa, Buddha, Christ and the Prophet—all became immortal by facing severe challenges in life. That is their greatness.
Amma prayed that the lives of such great souls renew our minds and make us messengers of peace. Even after the celebrations end, may that light continue to shine within us and illuminate both our paths and the paths of others.
The celebrations concluded with Amma cutting the Christmas cake and the distribution of prasad to all.
Wishing everyone peace, joy, and love this festive season.
