Suzanne's Simple Living

Hi there, welcome to ‘Suzanne’s simple living’

I’ve always known a simple life since childhood when I was always drawing, making arts & crafts and enjoying the garden and wildlife. I loved English at school and became an avid reader and writer.

Through the years I have always been frugal and don’t like waste and so began my reselling. I love charity shops and I’ve always bought my clothes from there, alongside being a minimalist as well concentrating on living not belongings.

I am an introvert and find crowds and busy places stressful, so a simple life suits me very well.

My home is just five minutes from the gateway to the ancient heaths & woodlands of the New Forest, Hampshire, England where the deer, ponies & cattle roam free.

Enjoy calm & peaceful ‘simple living’ films connected to nature & some craft making.

Thank you for being here,

Take care,

Best Wishes,

Suzanne x

Hello everyone,

How are you? all well I hope.

First of all to say that unfortunately my surgery did not take place, the consultant decided it was to dangerous and may leave my arm unable to work properly. There are to many nerves in the way and we decided its not worth the risk of messing up my arm especially as I already have long-term degradation in my shoulder rotator cuff.

He's assured me the piece of 'bamboo stick' in my inner right elbow won't move and its ok to live with it unless pins and needles start. Yes, a piece of 'bamboo stick' from a gardening accident I had last year! sorry I didn't make that clear in my last video, I've realised now it sounded like something else. I don't like to give all my life details as my private life is just that, private and I know you will understand.

Anyway, if I end up having to have surgery it will be a full operation and not worth the risk at the moment.

I still decided to take a long break from Youtube as a family member had some problems from early January and is now living with us. Family must come first and we are very happy to help.

I also started swimming again (doing lengths) to help with another non serious health issue. I go twice a week and feel so much better for it and have lost 4lbs! in the process which is an added bonus, Yay!
I swim 50 lengths each time! which takes an hour and I really enjoy it. I have amazed myself at the age of 58, it just shows what you can do if you stick at it and are determined to get healthy 🏊‍♀️

I have also been working very hard with my reselling and Ebay. Doing a big stock take and making sure that all items in 'Ebay central' as I call it are listed. I reduced the prices on old stock and cleaned and tidied ready for this year and buying more abandoned units.

I haven't done to much in the garden as we have had so much rain! Thank goodness my partner fitted a soak away last year due to the amount of water build up down the bottom of the garden. Its been flowing nicely and taking away all excess amounts of water. The grass is very wet but no flooding.

The chickens are well and looking forward to spring and next weekend I will be collecting 2 more rescue ladies(Arlington hens, like the white 'leghorns' we have but not as crazy!) to add to our flock 🐔

Life has still been very busy the last two months but Its been nice to take a break from Youtube and concentrate on other things. I do miss filming and editing sometimes but it takes a lot of work to create a video and my brain really needed to take a rest 🤯😊

I've just started to think about the next creation but I'm not putting myself under pressure, so there may not be a video every week. My work is much better when I'm having fun with it and not because I have to.

I know you will understand and I want to say 'THANKYOU' so much to everyone who has stayed subscribed, you really are amazing! The work that has already gone into my channel since I started is 'mega' and its thanks to everyone subscribing as well that it is what it is today! 😍

I also want to say a personal 'Thankyou' to my son for his dedication in teaching me editing and helping me every time I got stuck or had a problem with something techy!💖

So, with all that said I hope to be uploading a new video soon. I'm not sure exactly when or what it will be but something easy to get me kick started again.

Spring is definitely on its way and my favourite season which always gives me an extra bounce in my step! 🤸‍♀️

Take care,

sending much love and see you soon,

Suzanne xx 🥰🪻🐝🌸

Hello everyone,

I wanted to let you know that I've been a bit under the weather this week with cold symptoms and so there is no video today.

I also wanted to tell you that I have had a little change on my channel by updating the banner and icons, I hope you like them😁. My reason for this is because I will be sticking more to the calm & peaceful ‘simple living’ films connected to nature, which is what this channel was originally intended for.

When my mum passed in the summer of 2023 and I left my cleaning business six months later, I used part of that empty space by going full steam ahead with Youtube. Thanks to 'YOU' lovely people I hit 1K last Christmas and was monetised in the spring of this year and I'm now almost at 4K!

Its been a gradual journey, of good, bad, stressful, annoying and sometimes upsetting from uncalled comments but I'm still here. I may stumble but I will not fall, especially because of others.
I haven't always earnt much either, who knows how the algorithm really works! some videos are hits and others are a flop! but none the less I carry on because I enjoy filming, photography and editing it all into a nice little video. It will be wonderful to look back on these in the future.

I would also like to thank everyone who subscribed to my substack, 'THANKYOU' for your support its truly appreciated, especially in these early stages of having this platform 🥰🔖📚

Thank you so much for being here and being part of my community 🥰

I do hope that you are all keeping well, I am enjoying lots of fruit and herb teas and extra reading time while I rest🫖📖

Until next week, take care,

Suzanne x

Hi everyone,
I've just uploaded the new video for tonight 'Ways I Prepare For Autumn + 4 Tips'. Autumn is definitely here and chilly first thing in the morning but very warm during the day. We went down to Durdle Door, Lulworth, Dorset yesterday and it was just beautiful as always.
Take care,
