What if "home" isn't where you live, but where your family is? ❤️

Meet the retired couple from Switzerland who decided that hotels weren't enough. They wanted a real home base in Japan to spend meaningful time with their children. From buying the property sight-unseen to navigating a remote renovation, their journey in Chiba is unlike any other "foreigner buying property" story I've told.

Full tour and interview out now. You won't want to miss what they discovered along the way.

One home, two cities. 🚄✨

Cities like Takatsuki sit perfectly between Osaka and Kyoto. You get 25-minute access to both urban cores, distributing demand and keeping detached home prices accessible.

Don’t let the 2026 headlines slow you down.

Japan’s property market is still wide open! 🏠✨

While the government is increasing transparency with new disclosure rules, the right to buy and own an Akiya remains unchanged.

It's just time to get comfortable with a little more digital paperwork.

647,000 vacant homes in Tokyo alone. 🏚️📍

In the next leg of the Tokyo Akiya Marathon, I’m running through Sumida-ku. It’s a place where the futuristic Skytree stands in stark contrast to the traditional, low-rise charm of old-school Tokyo.

Is it possible to find "Akiya" in one of Tokyo’s most famous wards? The answer surprised me.

New video out now. Any guesses on how many abandoned homes we found?

A ¥0 house on an island with more cats than people. 🐈‍⬛🏯 What’s the catch?

This Sanagi Island home is offered at ¥0, but the logistics are the real price. From ferry-dependent supplies to extreme depopulation, we’re breaking down who this "deal" is actually for.

What is your biggest "language fear" when it comes to living in rural Japan?

You’ve probably seen the headlines lately:
“Foreign ownership rules.”
“Nationality disclosure.”
“Tracking.”
Even the word crackdown gets thrown around.

And maybe, quietly, you’ve wondered:
👉 Is Japan about to ban foreign buyers?
👉 Does this change whether I can still buy?
👉 Is the door closing in 2026?

This video exists for one reason: to slow everything down and separate fear from facts.

What’s coming in 2026 is not a ban.
It’s not a reversal of Japan’s property market.
And it’s not aimed at normal home buyers or akiya purchasers.

It is a change in process, not access. And the reason it feels confusing is because headlines keep mixing very different things into one bucket.

In this episode, I break down:
• What is actually changing
• What is not changing
• What applies to everyday foreign buyers
• What only applies to large-scale or sensitive cases most people will never touch

No hype. No fear-mongering. No “everything will be fine” hand-waving either.
Just a calm, clear walkthrough of what’s being updated, why it’s happening, and how it shows up in a real purchase.

Once you see where this fits in the system, most of the fear disappears on its own.

📺 Watch before you assume anything about 2026.
