College Football Historian

A time once existed before YouTube, DVDs and streaming. Back in those days when you wanted to see an old football game you had to get your hands on a video tape or film. A community arose whom traded tapes of old football games. It is now time for these classic game which have traded hands for decades to be uploaded for all too see.

Another update. Just want to let everybody know it will be a little slim pickings on the channel for a bit still. I'm so busy at work. I have not had a day off in a month. Unfortunately have not been able to read the comments either. I might be able to get a couple games up, but no promises. Over thanksgivings I hope to get a few games uploaded and will schedule them out. Luckily you have some live football to watch this time of year.

I am a bit busy right now, so uploads might be a bit sporadic for a couple weeks. I'll try to do a few quick oddball uploads in the mean time.

Hope everybody is have a good labor day weekend. As I post this the final College Game Day with Lee Corso is happening tomorrow. This made me consider what TV footage exist of Mr Corso coaching. An edited huddle version of the 79 Holiday bowl is out on youtube as well as a very grainy heavily edited version of Indiana's game vs Iowa from 1980. A couple years ago I posted the 1980 Michigan @ Indiana game linked below. It's probably the cleanest TV footage of Lee coaching and he is featured a decent amount in this telecast. This took place just before the end of the NCAAs exclusive TV contracts. This was telecast by a small outfit called ON-TV which was a pay per view that would broadcast the game the following day with some minor editing. So if you're interested in giving it a watch it's linked below. https://youtu.be/wO7Pa7Ub8jw

As the modern Football season approaches I'm deciding what I want my upload schedule to be. I won't be able to upload every day like I do now, but probably still 4 days a week. So the question. What best describes you watching habits for live football?

Just have a little channel update for everybody. I know many love these early 2000s NFL games I've been uploading, but I am running low on the regular season games. 2002 & 2003 were my big recording years where I recorded most NFL games on my TV networks. I don't have any 2003 week 17 games, and recorded almost no regular season games beyond 2003. I still have a lot of games to upload. I have the playoffs from 03 & 04. I also have a lot of older NFL games and will continue to upload the college football games. Thsu, I still have a lot of content. At some point I might run out or slow down, but that will be at least a year away.

Check out my bio for my archive.org page, I do have the 2003 wk16 MNF game, Favres dad's game. The NFL channel has the complete game, but if you'd like to see it less cut check out my archive channel. The game was a great memory for me as I got to watch it with my dad. We lost him just a few years later, so as I watched it again a few days ago, it was a bit tearful. Anyway, thanks for your viewership and keep commenting as interaction with other hardcore football fans is my motivation for channel, that and making games available to the masses.

Just want to share a video I believe many of you would like. It's the latest video by ‪@CollegeFootballHistory‬ I love all of his work, but am specifically linking this video as he too gave me a little shout-out. Admittedly these old silent coaches films that I sometimes upload can be tough to watch, however when a historian like Jon gives context it really brings these games alive. https://youtu.be/XdxqnS_WUqg

Looks like we hit 5,000 subs. Thank you all for the support. Perhaps some day I'll do a live stream. In the mean continue commenting on my videos. I read almost every one, it's my favorite part. Although my might see ads before my videos a channel of my type really can't make any money, which is fine, so my enjoyment from doing this is the interaction with other football fans. Anyway again thanks.

Over the next week and a half I'll be uploading the 2002 NFL playoffs. Most of these games will have full pre and post game as well as press conferences. All games were recorded direct to DVD, however some times when the early game went long the pre-game or the start of the game will be VHS. I'm not sure how many of the games will actually be able to be shown, but keep an eye on my archive channel below because I will upload all of the games to it. It will be a nice warm up leading into football season. During the season I might not upload on Saturdays & Sundays as I have to slow down my upload schedule a bit and it will give you time to watch some live football.

I want to give a little shout out to a creator that made a legit ESPN quality documentary, but he's just a guy probably with a full time job and a hacked version of adobe premiere. ‪@meyersfootballfilms‬ made a Harbaugh documentary linked below. I come from the Michael Jordan school where he said republicans buy shoes too, so I don't try to force my fandom on to my subs, but based on my uploads I think it's clear I'm a Michigan fan. I know right now most whom are not Michigan fans have some problems with the program that's fair, I'm a little bit too much of a Michigan Man to judge the criticisms fairly so I'm not the guy to give you neutral insights into the sign steal thing. Whether you love or hate Michigan, my man here made a documentary that is equally as good as a small team would make at espn, so I'm sharing it. https://youtu.be/uDIxmiR_sdQ?si=vOGvK...

I have a small internet archives channel. It's a place where I put videos that have some sort of problem on youtube. The link is below.
