It aims to provide global audiences with accurate and timely news coverage as well as rich audiovisual services, promoting communication and understanding between China and the world, and enhancing cultural exchanges and mutual trust between China and other countries.
Headquartered in Beijing, CGTN has three production centers, located in Nairobi, Washington D.C. and London, all staffed with international professionals from around the world.

China will grant a unilateral 30-day visa-free policy for Canadian and UK citizens, effective from February 17, 2026, to December 31, 2026, a spokesperson from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday.
Ordinary passport holders from the two countries can be exempted from a visa to enter China and stay for up to 30 days for business, tourism, family/friends visit, exchange and transit purposes.

Multiple people stabbed in Japan's Osaka, suspect remains at large
Several people were stabbed in Japan's Osaka Prefecture early Sunday, police said.
Local authorities reported receiving a call around midnight about multiple stabbings in the Dotonbori district of Osaka.
At least three people were injured, with one reported unconscious and the conditions of the other two still unclear.
The suspect is believed to be acquainted with the victims and fled the scene after the attack, according to China Media Group. Police are investigating the incident.
