This week for Black History Month we honor to pioneers in their own right; Mayor Marcus A. McGirt, Latta SC, and Former Mayor, The Honorable Pastor Robert Woodbury, Mullins, SC.

Pastor Robert Woodbury is a respected faith leader, public servant, and historic figure in Mullins, South Carolina. In 2020, he made history as the first Black male mayor of Mullins, following years of dedicated service as a member of Mullins City Council, where he worked to strengthen and uplift the community.

He is also the Senior Pastor of Bethel Word Ministries in Mullins, SC, serving with faith, vision, and compassion. His leadership reflects a lifelong commitment to public service and spiritual guidance.

Mayor Marcus McGirt is a community leader and historic figure in Latta, South Carolina, proudly serving as the town’s first Black mayor. His election marked an important milestone in Latta’s history and reflected the community’s trust in his vision for inclusive leadership and progress.

Mayor McGirt is known for his commitment to public service, community engagement, and improving the quality of life for all residents.

🌟 Remembering a TV Legend — Demond Wilson (1946–2026) 🌟

Today we mourn the passing of Demond Wilson, the beloved actor best known for his role as Lamont Sanford on the groundbreaking 1970s sitcom Sanford and Son. He died at the age of 79 after battling cancer at his home in California, leaving behind a legacy that will live on in laughter and memory.

Demond’s chemistry with Redd Foxx and his heartfelt performance as Lamont helped make Sanford and Son one of television’s most iconic and influential shows. Beyond his television work, he touched many lives through his later roles, his writing, and his ministry.

Thank you, Demond, for the joy, the humor, and the unforgettable moments. 💫 You’ll always be remembered as a true part of TV history. ❤️
