Claude Code's creator Boris Cherny says Al is now doing the heavy lifting on his own project.
In an X thread, Cherny claimed that over the past 30 days Claude Code (running on Claude Opus 4.5) generated his entire output-259 PRs, 497 commits, ~40k lines added and ~38k removed-with "every single line" produced by the model.
His takeaway: in some workflows, writing code is no longer the bottleneck-reviewing, steering, and shipping is.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says it is time to move past calling generative Al "slop" and start having a more serious conversation about how the technology fits into everyday human thinking and creativity.
In a recent post on Microsoft's internal Scratchpad, Nadella argued that the debate should not be framed as slop versus sophistication, but instead around how Al acts as a cognitive amplifier that reshapes how people work, create, and relate to each other. He described this as a core product design challenge rather than a cultural insult.
The comment comes as Microsoft has invested tens of billions of dollars into Al across Copilot, Azure, and its partnership with OpenAl, making generative models a central part of its long term strategy. From Nadella's perspective, dismissive language ignores the scale, direction, and permanence of where the technology is headed.
While critics continue to point out low quality Al images and content flooding the internet, Nadella's message is that the more important question is not what we call the output today, but how society chooses to shape Al's impact as these tools become embedded everywhere.

The internet has a case of the Mondays.
Cloud service provider Amazon Web Services (AWS) had an issue early this morning that took some of the world's most popular sites and apps offline for about two hours.
WhatsApp, Facebook, Snapchat, Amazon, Disney+, Robinhood, Perplexity, Coinbase, Venmo, and Fortnite were all disrupted, as were some major airline and banking sites. The British government had issues, too.
Amazon said around 5:30am ET that most sites and services were back on track. It's unclear what led to the outage, but one thing is clearer than ever: how much of the internet actually depends on AWS to function.
