Our Digital Manufacturing and Distribution Lab (DMD-Lab) at Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) just published in Progress in Additive Manufacturing. We extended a hybrid-viscosity-continuum CFD framework to predict melt pool dynamics in laser powder bed fusion, bridging slurry flow to Darcy flow in the mushy zone, tracking the gas-metal interface, and matching experimentally measured melt pool dimensions while capturing pore formation behavior.
