This poetry book has special meaning to me as it is a culmination of my life, particularly in my fight with Lyme disease which is where some of the most inspirational words have come from my heart, nearly losing my life 3 times because of it. Some of the poems in this book were written when I was a child, while others I wrote as I got older, from teen to adult. This book is a touchpoint of all the special people who have left a lasting impression in my heart in a positive way. It is a leap into love from multiple aspects-life, achieving dreams, romance, friendship, family, healing, nature, and the seasons.
I wanted to write something different than most poetry books. I wanted to complement the words with pictures so this book is as much of a picture book as it is a poetry book. I also wanted the reader to be a part of the experience to create their own "lovely thoughts" which are happy little reminders that can cheer you on for the good days and cheer you up on the hard days. I also created a place where one can write their own poetry to look back on, just as I have done all these years, and that my friend, is truly a lovely thought.

I wrote about my 50+ mile bike ride and how I dedicated this ride to my father who was my caregiver for 3 years as I continue my fight with Lyme disease. Love you always, Dad. If my story does anything, I hope it encourages you to never give up and keep believing in your dreams. Cheering for you every day.
Goals met! Despite being diagnosed with 3 more Lyme co-infections in August, I wasn't about to let that hold me back from achieving my cycling goals this year. In 2025, I had 2 goals-to finish 40 individual rides and bike at least 50 miles in a single ride (completed 8/16/25). Today, I finally finished my 40th ride! Though it is hard work to push through my symptoms and train, remove the im from impossible and just leave possible. Never give up!
