hello! i'm still taking a break but thought I'd give y'all the rundown of what I plan my MID-DECADE ANIMASH to be:

- I will try to include no more than 500 songs. this is partly due to concerns regarding the storage space of my humble laptop, but also it gives me a chance to give focus on more songs instead of blazing through them in quick succession.

- currently, the baseline is 75 songs from each year, so from 2020 to 2026 the total is roughly 75 x 6 = 450 songs, prioritizing mainstream anime (or songs) that defined this decade, and give wiggle room for my personal favorites and/or viewer requests until the 500 cutoff. it's mostly gonna be OPs, but I will include a good subset of EDs, INs and donghua songs (link click, etc.) to diversify it.

- I will give more emphasis to years where I didn't make a year-end animash on. so everything besides 2022 and 2023 will be more highlighted. granted, most sections' instrumentals will probably build off of existing sections from my previous mixes for convenience and to essentially elevate them, so I'm ultimately aiming to make most of the mix feel "fresh yet familiar". I won't go too crazy on the stems though lmao. just adding them when I feel it's necessary.

- I will start working on this come March. I've been planning and gathering songs little by little but in terms of actually putting it in my DAW it's gonna be next month. target of release is well, hopefully before this year ends. that's the hard deadline. ideally it's finished before summer 2026 starts, but I honestly don't know where this year will take me so... I'll keep everyone updated.

FALL 2025 ANIMASH PROGRESS: 100% (10, yes 10 out of 10 parts done)

wow i really took my sweet time. but truth be told i'm doing a coding certificate during all of this so granted I wasn't able to dedicate my time fully to finishing this before January. but! now that the audio's done, the video shouldn't take another 2 weeks. I personally really loved how it turned out, so I can't wait for y'all to listen to this one.

hey for once I'm not... too late. that's solely because I've started planning effectively after I was done with my summer animash. anyway, just gonna preface that this will be the final seasonal animash in a while, since... I will try to tackle the big 2020-2025 mid-decade mashup next year. wish me luck on that but first, gotta get this one out.

hey everyone, small update:

fall animash is currently underway, however, the laptop I use to do all of my activities suddenly has a broken hinge on the left side (as you can see from my impromptu and shoddy DIY). While I can still use it just fine, I worry that it's going to get worse in the long run 😅

I've asked around and these repairs tend to be pretty costly in my area, and I'm unfortunately not fully capable of taking on the financial burden myself yet so I would be very appreciative if people can pitch in to help secure additional funds on either my Ko-Fi or my Patreon. of course, you're not obligated to, I appreciate any kind of support even if it's just to spread the word. in any case, the links are in my channel bio!
